Has anyone tried the Wonderland Tea Party @ the Grand Floridian? We are planning a trip in June and are taking my daughter and our niece to the tea party with Alice in Wonderland and Madhatter. I was just wondering what we could expect for our money. Thanks!

We did this a couple of years ago when DD was 6 and she had a great time.

You drop off the kids and get a pager so you can wander around the hotel/grounds while they are doing their thing (we went and had tea ourselves in the cafe)

The kids get to meet Alice and the crew and they decorate (and eat!) cupcakes and do some other things that I don't rememeber - it was a while ago lol!

When we came to pick them up the chldren had flowers for their Mums, which was a nice gesture but it meant that since we were headed back to the parks I had to find a place to safely(ish) stow my small bouquet lol!

This sounds so cute - I keep trying to convince the girls to give it a try. I think if it was only Alice, they'd do it.

Kaitlyn did it when she was 5 and said she would do it again. I went back to my trip report and here's what is in it about the tea party. I'll put what Kait said in a different color. She typed it so please remember she was 5 when she typed it (and Word fixed the typos)

Kait and I boarded the monorail over to the Grand Floridian and checked in for the Tea Party. I was given a pager and a receipt and told that I would need both to pick her up. While we were waiting she met another little girl named Caitlin who had red hair, but was 4 ½. There were only 4 little girls who attended today. They let the parents come in for a few minutes and take some pictures then we’re waved out by the children and told to come back in an hour. So while Kait was enjoying herself, I walked around the grounds of the Grand Floridian. Finally it was time to go back and get her. First one of the CMs comes out and collects the pagers, then we’re allowed in the restaurant, which is now dark and the children have their heads on the table. The lights come on and “Surprise!”, the children have made flower bouquets for their moms. Before we can leave, we have to show our receipts. I’ll leave the next part to Kait.

“We had a kind of tea, but it really wasn’t tea. It was apple juice. And we made cupcakes with our fingers. And there was icing and sprinkles, and umm we got to put them on with our fingers and then lick it off. Then the Mad Hatter and Alice, they came in, and we palyed games with them. Well we played twinkle twinkle little little star but it was a different version. And you know what? When they left, then umm we got our pictures taken with both of them together. Everybody else was standing on the chair, but I didn’t. I sat down. The Hatter said to stand on it, but I didn’t want too. I told him that my mommy won’t let me stand on chairs ever, because it’s dangerous and I could fall. Then the Hatter signed my autograph book, because I told Alice that she signed it at breakfast already and she looked through and she saw it. Then they left and then the cast members gave us a surprise for our mommies and we pretended to be asleep. And you know what? The bouquets were in our lap, and they turned out the lights and I had mine in a special way so mommy couldn’t see it. And mommy was really surprised to see the bouquets.

My DD did this December '04 (she was almost 6) and really enjoyed herself. Two things that weren't mentioned that I think are worth saying. This really impressed DD: She said they had a "food fight" in which the Mad Hatter taunted them and the kids threw grapes. I think there were 10 -15 kids (one boy, the rest girls).

Another little tip... none of the children can sit at the two seats at the end of the table. My DD chose one right next to that (if you are looking at the table from the door you come in, on the left) and she sat next to Alice.

My DDs did this on our first day last February. It was a great way to spend our first afternoon - we checked our bags at the Poly (room wasn't ready yet) hopped the monorail over to GF for the tea party and my 2 girls 5 & 7 loved it. My 2 older girls (10) could have gone but had no interest - they were just as happy to hang out at the GF and play video games.

I sent them each in with a disposable camera and they loved the photos - not only the ones they took, but Alice and the mad hatter took some of them too! I would definitely recommend it!
