i might (and that is a HUGE might be convincing Joe we need to go back to Disney this year) I found a great deal... this is the last year before Joey hits the dreaded 10 suddenly costs more age ... the Wiggles are gonna be there so Ryan would be thrilled Abby keeps getting out the planning video... He had said we had gone to often (yeah 3 times in our lives is NOT too often ) So I said I didn;t agree but last year we could do something he wanted to... well he ended up having to work and "his trip" was off

Hi Amber! We used to have the same 'debate' here - i'm a SAHM too and dh's idea of a vacation is sitting on our couch because he works SO much, he's never home. But this house IS my job, and i want to get away. I honestly don't know how i got him agreeing to go every year, but he goes willingly now. I think he sees it as for the kids (he also knows what a disney nut i am and he sees how happy i am when we're there... he doesn't understand it though;)

I've really tried to tailor the trips to his liking too... if it were up to me, we'd do parks a lot more, stay all day, etc, etc. But he HATES crowds, so we always leave the parks right after our early lunch and swim/hang out the rest of the day, and he really started enjoying the trips because of this. BUT this past trip (we just got back a week ago - see below) my 6yodd was my 'disney buddy' and i have a little park commando on my hands now :) :) :)

I also make sure i plan lots of meals to his liking... and he did the Richard Petty passenger experience once - trying to make it fun for the daddy too.

Is your dh into fishing, race car driving, parasailing, golfing, etc??? any activity you can show him he'll be doing might help convince him it's not just a kiddie vacation... or is he all about relaxing (like my dh)? Then promise him you'll do tons of relaxing (or you take the kids to a park 1 or 2 days and let him sleep late, etc). We also for a couple of day split up w/ the kids... last year i took ds to epcot on easter sunday for the whole day, while dh and dd swam at the poly. this year, it was dd and myself doing parks, while dh and ds hung out at Ft. Wilderness (we had a cabin). They hunted lizards, fished, ate snacks while watching cartoons, took our golf cart to the playgrounds and cooked spaghetti and grilled kielbasi (sp????) for dinner... exactly what my dh considers a vacation! Perfect for all of us!

We also do a different resort each time now to please dh. I'd go back to the poly and boardwalk for each trip probably, but dh was getting bored. So it feels like a new vacation each time for him instead of the same old thing, since we do spend a lot of time at the resorts (again, to please dh... i'd be at a park every day if it were up to just me).

hope you can convince him! maybe you and him surprising the kids with a trip??? maybe that would make it something he'd "want" to do.

keep us informed!! Liz :)
