We are going to Disney in a week. Everything I have read on the internet with tips has said to take snacks and water bottles to the parks with you. Do they allow this? Don't they check your bags as you enter?

Yes, you can take them in. And yes, they do check bags, but they've never confiscated ours!

I think they realize that a lot of people can barely afford a trip to Disney, so they cut you some slack when you bring your own drinks and snacks in. I've even seen people bring sandwiches.

Have fun on your trip! If you have any other last minute questions, please feel free to post. It's always good to know a lot before you go. Val posted a while back that someone she knew had been to WDW the same time as she. The other woman complained about never seeing any characters. Well, she read nothing before she left, and apparently read no park maps and times schedules while she was there! So, she and her family left disappointed, all because she tried to wing Disney!

It sounds like you've done a lot of research. Very smart! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.

You didn't mention whether you were going to Disneyland in CA, or Disney World. We did Disneyland last summer.

Every day we each carried a fanny pack with a water bottle, and some snacks like granola bars, etc. They will do a quick check each time but didn't care that we had that stuff with us.

As the others have said, it's perfectly fine to bring in water and snacks, but it is actually against Disney's rules.

Yes, choose your bags carefully! We brought in a backpack that was nice & padded in the straps, so I thought that'd be great, but it must have (not exaggerating) 8-10 pockets. I didn't even USE all of the pockets, but I had to unzip every single one!

I've never been told anything at all about waters & snacks (3 trips since the bag checks after 9/11). On our last trip, we brought in PB sandwiches and out of 8 or 9 security checks, only once was anything said, and that was, "You plan on being hungry?"

At the same time, I think the week before, Sonya had a friend who was told to throw away Capri Suns and something else on 2 of her bag checks before she could enter the park, but that's the only time I'd ever heard of anyone having to get rid of stuff.

You CANNOT bring in glass bottles or alcohol, though.
