Nice they really didn't give anyone "warning". Who would have thought they would raise prices mid year? It isn't much of a raise, but every penny coumnts when you are saving for a trip.

Thanks for the update!

Stupid question here-if I've already made reservations and put down a deposit on a package will my price go up or will it be what I was quoted at the time?

From what I understand, if your package is PAID IN FULL, it will not increase. However, if you have not paid in full, the increase will be added to your package. I'm sure Sonya will be able to clarify this!

I'm trying to find someone who actually knows the answer. LOL I may not find anyone until Monday. When I called to find out about how the resort tax increase will affect already booked trips I had to go up a couple of ranks with the CMs and they still hadn't heard and couldn't give me a definate answer.

I heared that if your package was paid in full, then no adjustment for ticket increase would be imposed. I did however hear that the tax rate increase will affect everyone, even those who have paid in full. A person on another board I visit said that 1% of your package price would be due upon check in if your package was paid in full. I'm going in less than 3 weeks, so I guess I will owe an additional $14. I will be interested in hearing what you are told on Monday, as this board seems to provide me with the most accurate information.

Q? How do you know that Disney is a large company with a lot of people to get information out to?

A- Try asking them a question! lol

Seriously, I have no idea how many cast members I talked to about this. A few didn't know the prices were increasing today. 1 swore to me that the price increase today was for 2007 tickets and not 2006 tickets. Finally I got someone who knew that 2006 prices went up today. From this cast member I learned that 'tickets included in already booked pacakges should not be effected." She also confirmed that reservations not paid in full by Sept 1 will be subject to the resort tax increase.

Even though we're not going until Feb. 07 should I purchase my tickets now? Or should I wait and see if pricing is going to be hiked yet again closer to our date?

Areyou buying your vacations componants 'a la catre' or are you purchasing a package? Typically price hikes have happened in January. So really if you're buying a package you're safe becuase your package will have to be paid off in December, securing the current prices. If you are buying a la carte

Oh we're going to be getting the tickets ala' cart (separately) then get our condo after that by using the orlando magic card. Have everything paid off by Dec/Jan.

I was just worried that there would be additional price increases since I didn't anticipate these and now have to readjust our budget. Or there would be hidden fees because we were getting the tickets ahead of time, etc.
