Having just said that there's no chance of us going before 2008 unless a miracle happened, I then went to the bathroom and had a revelation lol!

Someone had posted about her DH's 40th b'day and I suddenly thought my DH will be 50 at the end of January and I ahve been kicking around ides for something special to surprise him with - well how about a trip to WDW??

He really does enjoy going and he's having a hard time just now with work stuff and an accident he had recently that left him with a dislocated shoulder and damaged knee (will probably need surgery)

In 6 months time though end of Jan 2007) he should be fine. Hmm... OK so questions:

What is the weather like at that time of year (Jan/Feb) water parkish or not?

Anything special going on for Valentines Day or something?

What kinds of thgings could I arrange as a special treat for him?

OH and that scooter thing around Epcot (forget what it's called!) how old do kids have to be to ride it? my DD is 8.

That will do for now, I will have to think this out a bit more lol!

Hi Carole,

My dh, his dad and uncle did the Segway tour last month and loved it. Minimum age is 16 though. It's $80 per person and you can get a discount if you're a DVC member or annual passholder. The tour was just over two hours and they went all through World Showcase and also into Future World. My FIL wants a Segway of his own now! the only thing is they all said their legs were sore afterwards so I'd check with your dh before booking it as you mentioned trouble with his knee.

good point about the knee, and I'd like something we could all do together in any case, so the Segway tour will have to wait a while.

I don't think there is a right answer to the water park question we were ther Feb9-15 in 2000 and it was HOT like 8- degrees we went back the very same week the very next year and the highest temp that week was 57 we had promised the gorls swimming so we swam on a 45 degree night in a heated pool and had to RUN so fast back to the room burrrrrrrrr

there are special dinners some places on Valentines day but they were more than we woula have wanted to spend and we did have the 2 little kids so to us Valentines was about everyone not the couple. So we food court that night because we just figured it IS a special couples occasion and why risk having the screaming toddler in a room full of people trying to be all together and alone

I've read a couple of repeorts about the family magic tour and it sounds like a lot of fun and something we all would enjoy.
