Another ME/Luggage Question

OK. With the new travel restrictions I am already trying to plan packing. I am 38 days out. But in those 38 days, school starts and I start new hours at work and on and on.
How much time to do you have to catch ME? Does the bus wait for you to get to it or does it fill up and go?
I think I am going to have to check most of the stuff I was going to carry on - like the rest of us and I really like the idea of picking up the checked bag that I would have carried on and taking it on the bus with us. Issue is, I have only been to MCO airport twice. Once we rented a car and once we hired a service. I am not really too sure about where everything is in relation to the ME pick up point. I really don't want to drag my 3 kids and DH all over the airport to pick up one bag only to trek across the airport to catch ME. And if ME is on a time schedule, I don't want to be running and I don't want to be "the one" holding up the bus.
You know if there weren't so many FREAKS out there who want to harm others for no good reason, I wouldn't have to be thinking about all of this. All I want to do is bring my toothpaste, shampoo, sunscreen, food and water on vacation with me. Is that too much to ask???? LOL!
Thank you for your insight!
Sarah

I can't tel you where you pick up your luggage since we used ME when we travelled last yaer and they did it for us.
However I can tell you that there will be lots of people to direct you towarda the ME bus area and lost of buses too. You have to check in at a desk first then they direct you towards the bus for your resort. There are lots of buses and they just go when they are full so I wouldn't worry about that aspect.

I know it must be very frustrating trying to organize packing now....here's my 2 cents. I think you're right on track picking up the one bag that would have been your carry-on and putting the rest through with the yellow ME tags to be transported to your resort.
IMO picking up this one bag will probably add about 15 minutes onto your schedule. You will go down to the baggage terminal, get your bag and then go over to ME, which is not far from the baggage claim - it is actually near the rental car counters if you remember that area from your previous trip.
There are plenty of Disney ME guides (plus a really long line LOL) to help you find the counter you are looking for. Only one person from your party is allowed to stand in line with your ME forms and they will check you in - THEN you will be directed to another set of lines based on which resort you are going to - and this will lead you to your bus. You can take your carry-on right onto the bus with you, or put it below in the cargo area if it is too bulky.
Come to think of it....If you go wait in line for ME while your DH and kids wait for your luggage (might keep them busy)you will probably both be done at the same time - then you can just go and board the bus together...
I used ME last February and we landed right around 11:00 a.m. - the busiest part of the day. The initial check in line took awhile (although it was moving and they were working hard - so you can't really complain) - when I saw the next set of lines I was a little depressed...but we walked right through them and onto a bus, and left within 10 minutes.
Busses are continually loading so you won't hold anyone up - just remember that it might take as long as an hour to get through the process - set that as your expectation and you can only be pleasantly surprised if it goes more quickly.
Have fun with your final preparations!

We just got back from WDW on the 6th.
