Someone mentioned it another post, thought I'd start a new thread for this.

Curious to hear from those who have done/are doing/are contemplating/have seen family costumes. What are/were your costume ideas?

I'm not sure what we're doing this year, or even if we get to go.

DS insists on Mickey, I just hope he's not too hot. DD is going to Bippidi Boppidi Boutique that morning to get all dolled up as Cinderella. I'm going to go as Minnie Mouse in someway. I'm either going to go the whole 9 yards and order the costume from Disney Shopping or just get the ears and gloves and wear a red tee etc. I'd be hard pressed to get DH to dress up!

We went last year and my first tip would be make sure it's something cool: It was soo hot and humid that night we were all sweating buckets LOL!

DD went as Princess Jasmine (along with at least 6 other little girls that we saw)

I was a lady vampire in long red dress with black velevt overshirt (which got removed quote soon!) black nail polish and black lipstick (I forgot to take any remover with me so was stuck with black nails for the rest of the trip lol!)

DH was a pirate in cut off jeans, stripey T-shirt (an old one of mine) and a Goofy pirate headress (spotty bandana with Goofy ears and earring) - he at least was coolish, although he said the headress made him itch lol!

Lots of people had much more elaborate costumes, and some families had lovely themes going, we saw one family where all the ladies wore beautiful medieval dresses and the men were knights or squires.

It was a lot of fun, we'd definitely do it again.

I really wanted to us to be a Potato Head family. I thought it would be relatively easy to make. My thought was that I could attach the face parts with velcro so they'd be changeable like a real Mr Potato Head.

My kids brought up being the Incredibles. This is a whole lot less work since most of our family has the shirts and they have them at TDS. Put on some black pants and maybe black masks for our photo and we're done.

I still like the potato head idea, but I think I'm going to take the easy way out. Also, I think to look best I was going to need to add some bulk to the lower half of our brown potato t-shirts and the Incredible t-shirt will be cooler.

We are determined to narrow down our "plan" this weekend--it's supposed to rain here in New England, so what else will we be able to do??LOL!

Dh & I thought we had a "great" idea to be Mouseketers--remember from the old show??? I always wanted to be Annette:)!!! Anyway, I thought that would be so easy--white t-shirts instead of mock-necks, & put our names on the shirts. Add the ears & we'd be good to go. However, ds(10) thinks it's weird. Probably because he has never seen the show!!!

Keep your ideas coming--I need help!!

Last year my 2 yr old DS was Captain Hook, DH was Peter Pan, and I was Tinkerbell, but only becuase I was thousands of miles from home and no one I knew would ever see it LOL!

This year, DS (now 3) wanted to be Mickey - He's obsessed with the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show! So, I'm going to be Minnie and DH (he's such a good sport) is going to be Goofy.

How about the Incredibles? or a Pirates of the Carribbean theme? Good luck, boy costumes are sooooo much harder than girls! The Disney shopping website had lots more than the store did. Keep in mind, we'll all be sweating there in Oct and will probably have them on for about an hour...long as we get a few good pictures!
