my itinerary for October short trip...

I'm really just sharing because i'm sooo excited that we're going in a month!!

we arrive oct 5 in the late afternoon and are staying Contemporary MK View. Our flight arrives at 5:44pm, so i'm thinking realistically we'll get to the contemp and check in around 8pm-ish. maybe earlier, but you never know. we'll just get take-out dinner from the food court and eat on our balcony while gleefully watching MK all lit up, and watching the fireworks from our balcony, which will be 'hallowishes' i believe since that night is a MNNSHP. I think i'm more excited about this part of the trip than anything else!! I've always wanted to stay there for the view and could never talk dh into it, but w/ a 3 day trip it was easier to talk him into it. :)

Friday morning, MK opens at 9am, we'll be there waiting for the gates to open! We have tickets for MNNSHP that night... i'm thinking dh and ds might go back for a rest to the hotel, possibly dd and I will just stay at the MK. I have to think of an easy costume for the kids... something not hot, and something i can be carrying w/ me maybe. maybe i'll just end up buying them costumes right there in the afternoon.

Saturday... resort/pool day. chef mickeys at 11am for a late breakfast (ds's special request), and concourse steakhouse at 6pm for dinner. The pool looks fun w/ the slide and fountains. if dd and i get bored we'll walk on over to MK for a few hours while dh and ds continue playing on the playsets and swimming. I kind of want to walk over to MK just because I can since we're so close and have ap's.

Sunday... i'm thinking AK in the morning and MK in the evening. Then we leave monday morning (the 9th).

i didn't want the kids missing any school, and dh didn't want to miss too much work, so this trip fit in well w/ columbus day weekend, and dd's 7th birthday is Oct 10! So i made sure to mention that when i made all the ressies.

The kids will go to school for the morning on the thursday we leave and friday was a half day, so they're not missing much.

I'm also planning our December trip... i just made a ressie for dd and I for the 'my princess tea party' thing at the Grand Floridian. It's ridiculously expensive, but every review i've read says it's worth it if you can swing it. That trip is a surprise though... which will be so much fun in itself.

any ideas for costumes for the halloween party?

Liz :)

hi, the hotel for the xmas trip (12/26 - 12/31) we'll be at the WL.

i'm also not 'creative' at all when it comes to costumes and stuff! i need something already sort of put together. i like the hawaiian and western theme thing... we do have a bunch of cowboy stuff, but i wonder if we can't have western-looking guns in the park? those buzz lightyear type guns don't look anything like real guns, but i don't know if a cowboy gun would look too real to be allowed. i'll have to check into that, because i really like that idea and we have simple costumes that would work. Thanks!!

I tried to add some tips to your post this morning, but the kids were sort of 'demanding'... last day of summer vacation is a little crazy. i'll add my tips to your post as soon as i get a chance.

What about watere pistols? I have seom "Six shooter" shaped ones that are neon colors, so there is no way they would be mistaken for a real one, but it is a nice shape!

Hope you have a great time too!! October is such a nice time of year! I don't think dh and I are dressing up either, but i'd sort of like to. It needs to be easy though.

Enjoy your trip! Liz :)

hey Val... it's actually 4 trips in 2006... Easter, July 4th, October and Christmas coming up. And dh says he doesn't like disney!! I think he really does just do it for me and the kids, but whatever the reason, i'm THRILLED!!!

He had surprised me w/ the christmas trip, which i thought would be enough for me.

but when you have an AP, it really calls to you, very loudly sometimes!

I was almost ready to book a girls october trip for dd and I when he said book it for all of us. he really wouldn't want dd and I traveling alone. but i was really feeling like "why NOT go????" if i want to and i can afford it, i'm going! life is too darn short and the kids grow up too quickly!

btw, how's your dad doing? I hope everything turns out ok w/ him!
