Did I goof with Caribbean Beach booking?

I wonder if I screwed up. We only have a standard room at Caribbean Beach to save $$, (and I figure we won't be in room much anyway). Since that time, I've discovered how BIG this place really is, and some "villages" are really far from main pool and food court areas. So I called the hotel and asked if it was possible to be in Martinique, and she said I could only call one week ahead of time to ask, so I called today (actually 10 days ahead), and was told AAA would have to call since they booked the trip. Anyway, AAA called, and Martinique and Trinidad North are considered the "preferred locaitons" and are sold out already. So does anyone have any recommendations on where else would be good? I don't want to make the boys walk miles before we even get to the parks! (ages 3 and 7). thanks, Kathy (leaving Sept. 18!)

We are booked there for January (in a standard room also) and I have only heard good things about it.

Yes it is big and spread out, but we stayed at Coronado Springs a few years ago which is similar and they had golf cart shuttles that you could hop on and off to get the places that were further away than you wanted to walk to. I would think there would be the same arrangement at CR.

There are also smaller pools between the buildings if you dont't want to go to the main pool every time (at CS there was one about 50 feet from our room which was handy since my DD (then 6) is a fishy lol!)

It really isn't as big as it looks on the map.

I think the resorts always look so huge on the map but the way they are laid out makes it a pretty short walk to everything. carribbean Beach also has an internal but that will take you to the food court, but I always found this much more time consuming and it is so peaceful and relaxing (words you do not hear very often at Disney!! LOL) to walk around the grounds since they are so beautiful. I really wouldn't worry that much about it. HAve a a great trip!

We just stayed at CBR in Dec and it was great. For a non-preferred location, request the Aruba section. We stayed in the Aruba 5600 bldg and the bus stop was right in front of our rooms. We had about a 4 minute walk to the food court. The quiet pool and laundry were one bldg over. We loved this resort. It does appear much bigger on the map than it seems to be in person. We really didn't mind the walk in the mornings to the food court since it got the juices flowing. So if you can't get preferred definitely request the Aruba section! We were also the last to be picked up and the first to be dropped off after the parks which worked out really great since we were tired.

Have fun. You will like CBR!

The place really is huge but I didn't catch how old your boys are. It's not too huge for big kids to walk around all 8 or 9 buildings but they also have a continuous bus service to pick up at each and every building and it always stops at the food court. I really enjoyed it and I had a 4 year old and a 6 month old at the time. It was ideal with the pools and the food court for kids 8-12 I thought.
