Ok, I am not understanding this- We are going to be there during this time- What does this mean? We have the dining plan- we also have ADR's every night for dinner...so does this mean that we can not take advantage of this deal unless we cancel our ADR for a night? Doesn't seem worth it in the long run to give up dinner for 2 more snacks and some souvenirs....just my opinion.

From the Allear.net site...
Disney Dining Plan Snack or Merchandise Certificate from August 13 - October 7
As a special offer, Guests who choose to dine in Quick Service locations using their Table Service entitlements will receive a certificate at the Quick Service locations for their choice of one of the following items: two (2) snacks, a collectable Disney Trading Pin and lanyard (pin design may vary), or a "Where the Magic Lives" poster featuring Mickey and his friends. All items are subject to availability.
Guests who choose the two-snack option can redeem the certificate at any Quick Service or Outdoor Foods location or participating Merchandise locations (both snacks must be redeemed at the same time, in the same participating location).
Guests who choose either the pin and lanyard set or Disney poster may redeem the certificate at select Merchandise locations (listed on the certificate).

You would have to cancel an ADR and use the quick service in place of the sit down and then you get to choose 1 deal or the other.
I think they are offering this because people were having a hard time getting ADR's? I am not totally sure.

13 days and counting
During the period that the dining plan is being offered for free this year, the majority of sit down restaurants are OVER booked. Anyone without reservations can pretty much forget eating at a sit down place. There's no winging it this time. Disney has been making personal calls to people going during this time to ensure that they know they HAVE to have reservations to eat at sit down places. They also opened up a few new options during this period, Chef Mickey's is offering lunch, the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station is converted to a buffet as well as a few restaurants offering extended dining hours. Disney realized however that this still wasn't enough and that people were still going to end up with extra table service credits left over and paying out of pocket for counter service. This would make the dining plan look bad and cause Disney a lot of headaches (epseically those poor CMs in Guest Relations!) So they came up with the offer you read.
If you choose (or can not due to lack of reservations) to not eat at a table service and instead want a counter service, you MUST tell the CM at the counter service restaurant that you want to use your table service credit for that meal. You will get your meal and be asked which other entitlement you want - 2 extra snack credits, or a poster, or a lanyard with a pin (the ones I saw were blue lanyards that WDTC used to give out and a goofy airplane pin). You will be given a voucher for your choice. If you choose the 2 snacks you must use the 2 snacks at the same time at the same place. Ex - you get an ice cream and a drink from a vendor. You can not get an ice cream from one vendor and a drink from another with your voucher (you can with your reg snack credits)
