I just read an article that indicated that CROCS are actually good for your feet http://diabetes.webmd.com/features/crocs-healthy-shoes-just-comfy?ecd=wnl_prg_022407

Sneakers for sure. Crocs don't provide enough support for all the walking you'll do.
I got brusitis last year from not wearing supportive shoes (I wore good Naturalizer sandals ONE day). I learned my lesson.
Have a great trip!

I LOVE CROCS!!! I have 3 pairs (one pair is the red mickey ones). I wear them almost everyday, they are awesome. That said, I wore them to Disney last summer. My feet hurt soooo bad after the 3rd day. All I brought was Crocs and flip flops so I had no support for my feet, ankles etc. Next time I will bring good tennis shoes and my crocs and alternate between them. Maybe do a half day in each.

I should also mention that my dh and both my dds wore nothing but Crocs also, and they had no problems, no complaints at all. I dont know why but they were fine.

I didn't take my Crocs when we went in Nov because I don't wear them all that often and so am not that used to them.

I've actually read some posts on another board regarding Crocs and how dangerous they can be if you wear them on escalators. One person actually posted a picture of her daughter's Croc which was eaten in one of the escalators in Disney. The shoe got stuck, and luckily her daughter got her foot out in time, because the shoe was mutilated.

My kids don't have them and have never asked. I'm not opposed to them, but this post and picture that I saw really scared me!! With that aside, though, I'd think that their feet would sweat in those something awful. I have the Payless "knock-off" of the Croc flip-flops and those are fine, but the closed toe ones seem like they'd be hot to me?

Good luck deciding!

My vote goes for 2 pair of good well broken in supportive sneakers with extra socks and a pair of flip flops/sandals/crocs for short periods of time. You want support because you're on your feet ALL day either standing waiting or walking, and you want the extra socks becuase you will sweat and you need to keep your feet dry to avoid getting blisters. (change socks around lunch time and don't wear the same ones to bed).

I have a different favorite shoe to wear. It's from Sketchers and it's a slip on sandal. This link shows one similar to what I wore last time.

http://www.skechers.com/catalog/browse.do?function=displayProductList&gender=W&catId=4&index=2&viewAll=false&sort=popular&prodId=9392&styleCode=46251

I was 5 months pregnant, and wore them all day for 3 days in a row plus shopping - no problems at all. The ones I have didn't have the between the toe thing, just plain slip ons. I think the key was breathable fabric around my food that was stretchy and that big, thick footbed with a little arch support. Just awesome!!

My personal opinion on sneakers - way too hot! All of that ashphalt is SOOOOO HOT! Why add socks and closed in shoes? Maybe one of those open weaved shoes, but not regular ones - no way. My kids will be wearing some sort of sport sandal this year. DH will do what he wants, as usual. Last time, he wore his "comfy" slip on sandals - red blisters and aching feet. I will TRY to convince him to wear a good shoe, but he never listens.

I agree, I am so not a fan of having my feet closed in in hot weather and I never wear sneakers in the summer.

Last time we went I didn't have my crocs, but wore my Birkenstock sandals and they were fine. Now I have crocs and croc flip flops, so I would wear those next time. I do find the regular crocs can make your feet sweaty when it's hot, but it is always good to have a change of shoes.

I usually take 2 or 3 pairs different shoes for DD, sneakers/sandals and crocs etc.

You've given me a great idea for a birthday present for her too LOL! I will get her a pair of the Mickey crocs, and maybe a couple of the decorative charms to go on them - Thanks!!

Good point...but beware of ANY shoe on an escalator. A friend of mine back in grade school (waaaaay before crocs were invented) was wearing sneakers that got caught in an escalator. He lost part of his foot. When my kids ride escalators, I either hold them or am sure that they are in the center of the step--and I have warned them about the dangers of the sides of escalator steps.

And for the record, I always take a good pair of sneakers and several pairs of comfy sandals, including a pair with open toes. Once when DH and I went and spent every waking hour at the park, I actually ended up losing a toenail...the open toed sandals were a lifesaver!

My kids will bring sneakers, disney crocs, and sandals as well.
