Water Shoes at the Water Parks?

So can kids wear water shoes in the slides, wave pools, etc at the Disney Water Parks? We've got a day planned for our very first trip ever to Blizzard Beach and I'm wondering if they need the shoes to protect their feet when walking around the water parks and are they necessary (or a nuisance) in the actual water areas??

Your thoughts please!! :) Thank you!!

I have not actually been to any of the Disney waterparks, but I have been to others. If you plan on spending the whole day there, some type of water shoe would be good, especially for kids. Since you usually have to climb stairs and walk alot, the bottom of your feet can get raw if they are not use to it. If your kids go to the beach and run around outside in their barefeet often, they maybe alright without the shoes. Also, putting on shoes on sore feet the following day to go to a park is going to make some people cranky.

If you can't find the water shoes where you live yet, they are in every store here in Florida and you probably get some in the gift shop for a premium.

Good luck - Ashli
