As I sit here in Tampa, it is raining! All I can think about is those who are in Orlando getting rained out on their plans for the day.
So what would your suggestions be for those who need a rainy day back-up plan. Better for those with upcoming trips to know what they can do indoors in advance.
My #1 idea... Disney Quest in Downtown Disney!
Trying to think of more. Even the shopping at Downtown Disney is the open air style shops so walking from shop to shop you would need an umbrella.
Florida is not known for indoor pools. I tried to find one in Tampa at a hotel just for a weekend get-away during the winter months and it seems they are non-existent!

Now for all you not familiar with Florida weather. It does seem to rain every day in the afternoon in the summer months. However, those rain showers do not last long... maybe 30 minutes at the most. So that shouldn't keep you from going to the parks. Just take some poncho's. If you have a stroller rain cover those come in handy. My jogging stroller had one. I also bring large beach towels to keep on the stroller for identity of the stroller, to hang from the canopy to block out the sun if the little ones are sleeping, for the water play area, and for the short rain showers.
Tip, walmart has rain poncho's for like $0.50. They are about $7 at the park. The umbrella I bought was $11

We went for a week in June 2002 and it rained every single blessed day we were there...all day long. It was not very magical. But all we could do was don the ponchos and forge on. We were all soaked, and it was not a good hair week, but there was no way I was spending all of our park time inside somewhere.
So, my tip, as uncomfortable as it may be, is to put on the ponchos, some water shoes or flip flops, and keep on touring the parks!
I buy the ponchos from the dollar store now. They come 2 in a pack, and I buy several packs. I put them in the bottom of the backpack just in case. I hope not to use them, but if we need them, they are there.

My rainy day tip? Enjoy the parks! Especially in the summer when the rain is every afternoon for an average of 1 hour and then it's gone. So many people leave afraid that theyll melt or that the rides close that it's a great time to tour the parks! Very few things close in the rain, more close in thunder/lightning storms, but just grab a poncho and have some fun!
But, if you are looking for indoor things....
I agree!
We had our fair share of rainy days this past trip and I wasn't prepared!! I brought cooler weather clothes b/c I saw that temps were going down but I totally forgot our rain jackets!
