Is this a safe ride for a pg person to go on. I mean, I plan on going on the Safari ride in AK (even though there is a restriction, I've been on it in the past and I'll try to sit up front...that's the only ride I'll go on with a restriction)I'll be 15 weeks when we go. I couldn't find a restriction on this ride but for those who have been on it, how is it? In general does it make you nauseous (for those with a weak stomach.)

I have never been to WDW pregnant, so I haven't paid attention to restrictions this way.

I was just wanting to comment on the 5 year old. If he is tall enough and is not afraid of heights, I'd think it would be fine. It's a very smooth ride, and I have seen plenty of young children on it. I get terrible motion sickness in a motor vehicle but not at all on Soarin'. My brother is terrified of heights though, and I don't think he could ride Soarin' at the age of 29! It does give a sense of flying.

Thanks for the info. My 5yo will LOVE this experience. He is definately tall enough and it's one ride (besides the kiddie rides) that I'll be able to go on with him. He loves rollercoasters so dh will have to go on the ones he is tall enough for.

I loved Soarin and I'm not a ride person AT ALL! I did get a touch of motion sickness, but it was worth it to experience the ride and you can always close your eyes. I went on twice. My 7 yo DS and 4yo DD also went on without a problem. It's not scary at all -- just feels like you're flying which is so cool. Other than the motion sickness issue, I wouldn't hesitate to go on while pregnant -- it's a gentle ride, definitely smoother than the safari. I've been to Disney twice while pregnant (once 6 weeks along and once 10 weeks along)and I did the safari and some other rides that had the "no pregnant women" sign on it. I spoke to my doctor before going and he assured me that the baby was well protected and to use my best judgement. I stayed off the roller coasters and Tower of Terror (would have even if I wasn't pregnant, LOL) and I skipped Test Track (tried the last time though and LOVED it), but otherwise I went on most things. FOr instance Pirates of the Carribean and Maelstrom both have slight drops, but nothing over the top so I did those. If in doubt, I sent DH on the ride first and then we decided together. As for Soarin's popularity -- definitely do Fastpass. The day we went on we had the Storybook breakfast so we got to Epcot at opening, went straight to Soarin, rode because there was no wait and picked up Fastpasses to ride later on the way out. Then DS and I went back after lunch and it was a 75 minute wait, but we only waited 15 with our FP.

My dh, my dd who was 7 and my ds who was 6 went to WDW last summer and this was one of our favorite rides! We went on it three times, LOL! IMO, I don't see why it would even have a restriction for pregnancy on it...it's quite tame.

I wouldn't think there would be any pregnancy restrictions on Soarin'.

Yep - same here. I have terrible motion sickness, but not a single problem on Soarin'. Enjoy!
