We are going to Disney is June. How many girls dress up like their favorite character? Is is just when they do the character meals? Just at the hotels? In the park? I can't imagine my 7 yr. old all dressed up when it is 90 degrees and humid. Will she look around a see lots of girls all dressed up? Or is this something we can skip? I guess basically, I'm wondering if you feel this is a "must do" when going to Disney for the first time with a 7 yr old daughter.

IMO its up to your dd. If she wants to then let her & just bring a change of clothing w/ you if she gets hot. I see girls of all ages walking around dressed up. I think their parrents just want to get one more wearing out of their Halloween costumes. LOL

The last couple of times we've been DD has dressed up for our character meals (at least the ones involving princesses - 1900 Park Faire, Princess breakfast in Norway and lunch with Cinderella at the castle)and also for MNSSHP - we all dressed up for that.

We took a change of clothes, and left all the bulky stuff in a locker for the day, so we didn't have to drag it all around with us.

She hasn't wanted to dress up for other character meals though, like Chef Mickey's or Breakfastasaurus - apparently it's only royalty that requires a special costume lol!
