I was talking over our trip plans with DH the other day (he still doesn't know if he can actually come or not - so a lot of things are up in the air)

But I realised that I had originally planned for us to arrive at WDW Monday September 23rd, (Caribbean Resort)I wasn't sure of our arrival time (flight still not booked but chances are we wouldn't have arrived till at least mid-afternoon))so I had just booked an ADR at Shutters that night and left it as a settling in and enjoying the resort day.

I have breakfast at CP booked for the next day plus the Family Magic tour as our big kick off to the trip.

However I later added 2 days beforehand at Coronado Springs, we will now be arriving on the Saturday, meeting friends for dinner and spending Sunday with them at WetnWild, and may or may not have dinner again before they drive home (they live 2 hrs away from Orlando)

Monday will now be our transfer day to CR - but since Disney will do this for us it won't take the whole day. So,,,,, what do we do?

Spend the day at CR? go to a park? it's EMH at AK that day I think.Should I try for another ADR somewhere else - a character meal as a holiday kick off?

Ideas?

Monday is an "off" day for check in/out, so my guess is that you'll be able to get your room earlier in the day (prior to 4pm).

I second the OP, especially if your trip is a week or less. If more, then you have more flexibility, and instead of the EMH, you could do a DTD/DQ half day, followed by an easy afternoon at any park (one where you might want to attend the daytime parade, maybe?) and a dinner ADR at that park? (I'd go for MGM Motor Cars parade and 50sPT, or MK parade and LTT for example). So how long WILL you be there? How wonderful to go in September with low crowds AND still warm enough to enjoy the pool & water parks! (Yeah I know I'm nuts, I actually don't like WDW as much without the heat!)

D'Oh, I'm afraid I replied to the Other poster instead of the Original...just letting you know you have a reply! (Couldn't edit the "to" field!) Oops! :)

Carole,

I would spend it at the park and possibly add another meal to your week. Where are you getting your park tickets? If you are getting them when you check into CBR then you will need to go check in there first so you will have access to your tickets. I hope this helps. You might even consider taking your bags in a taxi over yourself if you do have to go check in to get your tickets.

We'll be there for 9 days (8 nights ) - we've never been any time other than September/October and it's always been reasonable both weather and crowd wise.

Yes - that is another thing to consider. We have the stay at CBR as a package (with free dining!)so won't be able to pick up our park tickets till we check in there.

Right now I am leaning toward using it as a DTD day with maybe lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. But another day at AKL is also attractive, we'd have to check in and pick up our tickets first and we're not really early morning people - so I don't think we'd make the early EMH lol!
