We are going back to MGM this week. We haven't been in over a year and didn't do too much that day. Actually we went back once just for Fantasmic.
What should be on my "must do" list?
Last time DS wasn't intersted in the power rangers, but the latest commercials (we live in Tampa) has him excited about seeing them now. That is the reason we are going back... the commercials. DD has been asking over and over and over and over to go see the Playhouse Disney at MGM. We are kind-of "Magic-Kingdomed-Out" since we have been there so much in the past year before our annual passes expired.
Since we have a 1 day pass left we haven't used, we are using it this week because it's my birthday! We will be in Orlando Wed, Thur, Friday. So which day would you pick to go to MGM? I was thinking of Thur. Wed, we could get up and take our time to pack, etc. Then drive down to our hotel (staying at Shades of Green). Check in is at 3pm so if we get there early we may just go to DTD or see if the hotel will let us check in early or if the hotel will just let us use the pool early. LOL. Then wake up and go to MGM on Thur, spend a full day there, come back to hotel. Fri morning, check-out, then go to SeaWorld since we also have a free entrance there as well. I am not a huge seaworld fan so after we have done what we want we will then just drive home.
I know DD has been seeing all these new commercials and wants to go really bad. I need to refresh myself on the website (headed there next) on everything they have there. But what are your suggestions for must do's?
Kid are almost boy-15, boy-13, boy-5, girl-4.
Also, what is the best place to eat (with no reservations of course).
I am a planner and like to know which areas I am headed to at what time to fit the most into the day. I don't recall that we did very much last time.
Also, are there any EMH those days? That may change my scheduled day to attend. I read the post about the dance party, DD would love that and I would be willing to switch days (even getting up earlier on Wed and driving down to be there when they open).
My birthday is actually on Wed.

Is tower of terror or the rock-n-roller coaster something we should definetly fast pass? Probably just me and oldest DS will go on those. The rest of the family are not into big thrill rides. Except the 5 year old but he's too short for most of them right now. LOL.

My disclaimer is I haven't been there since 2000, but in all I've been studying obsessively recently for our upcoming trip, I think I learned the following answers to your questions:
The thrillers (ToT and RnRC) you should definitely plan on either FPing or getting there right at the very beginning of the day if you don't want to face long lines. I would think all your boys would enjoy Lights Motor Action and Star Tours. Little girl would probably love Beauty and the Beast, Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Good CS restaurants I've heard are the ABC Commissary and the Backlot cafe (I think it's called?) but it might be worth a shot at making ADRs last minute at one of the TSs like PrimeTime or SciFi?
I'm sure the real experts here will have a lot more to say, and perhaps some corrections, since for all my good intentions I really don't know much :)
As for EMHs I don't know but my gues is you should be able to find those on the calendar at the WDW website?
Happy Birthday!
