Photopass is nice! In a nutshell, it's somewhat like a credit card, and you give it to the Disney photographers around the parks before they snap pictures of your family. It slips into a camera and digitally records your picture. If you don't have one, you ask the first photographer you meet, and they'll hand one over (at least that's how it worked for us in the past!). No charge for using the card.

You can use the Photopass to access your pictures online. At that point you can purchase zero, one, two, three...or a CD with every "professional" picture from your trip. It's entirely up to you. I think we had about 2 months after our trip to decide what we wanted to purchase after our last trip.

I like it SOOOO much more than waiting in line to see pictures and wasting park time....just to find that the family picture with Mickey, already printed, was a total dud. We ended up purchasing the entire CD last year, so we can print the photos ourselves, share them with family, put them on a website, etc.

The only weirdness we had was that 4 pictures of some child we do not know ended up on our card from the BBB. I'm assuming someone else had pictures of my kids on their photopass!

Hope that cleared things up a bit vs. confusing you more. :)

I must say that we did use our photopass card last time we went but didn't buy any of the photos (actually I don't think we even looked at them LOL!)

My DH is a passionate photographer, takes about a million pics every trip with his digital SLR camera, my DD (9) has her own little digital camera and is almost as bad as DH. We are snowed under with pics, I think the only ones we've actually bought are a few of us on Splash Mountain etc.

So if you buy the CD for what, $99 then you don't have to pay to buy each individual picture?

You've got it! I don't know the exact break even point, but I wanted about 20 pictures from our Photopass. It made more sense financially to just buy the entire CD.

We are the kind of people that bring a camera, but we don't use it often enough. I'm glad to have Disney fill in the gaps! :)

Andrea,

If you wait until you arrive home to purchase your pass you will be able to add graphics to your photos. The cost is now $124.95.

Here are a few from our pass......

Btw, we take a lot of our own pictures as well. There are so many shots we would not have had if we didn't use photopass.
