I just went to the WDW site to try to check on prices for MLK weekend at the campgrounds.

They are supposed to be announced in August. Until then, you can't book online after Dec 31. You can book by phone, though.

I am still waiting to book our February 2008 trip (with Sonya). Having the same problem as you.

I was told August of a Disney Travel Agency, and was told October by AAA. My fiance and I are eagerly awaiting booking our honeymoon for April 2008!

I'm still being told August, but never a time frame in August so I don't know if it's next week or in 4 weeks.

For the conflicting AAA info - I *believe* that the AAA packages and prices were announced in October.

Sorry for the mix up .. When I went in to AAA they said they couldn't get me a price quote until THIS (coming) OCtober (ie they are also saying that they don't have them yet). How confusing! But as has been stated, I wasn't told an exact date either. I was told by the Disney Travel Agent that they would have them "after summer, in August" so I was going to check back in the next couple weeks, and I'l definitly let you guys all know what I find out! Again, sorry the confusion, I just wasn't being clear.

Last year when the 2007 prices came out in August, the AAA prices weren't out yet. I believe it was Oct that the 07 prices came out. So what I *think* may happen is that after Disney announced their prices and packages in August, AAA then confers and figures out their prices and releases them in october.

So if I'm correct, we should get the Disney prices in August, and then in October find out what the AAA discounts will be.

Do you find that going through AAA is usually cheaper? I have never personally booked a trip through them before, but thought I would atleast get a price quote for our trip.

Not always. And often it's more frustrating.

When you book with any travel agent - lilke AAA or like myself - the agent *owns* your reservation. The agent is the only one Disney will talk to about changes to your reservations. So you are trusting this person with your trip. You want to be sure that the person has a good knowledge base. I've heard loads and loads of complaints in online forums about people knowing more about Disney than their AAA, AE, general agency travel agent and being EXTREMELY frustrated with them.
