buy park tickets not from disney???

Is it possible for me to purchase park tickets elsewhere, and still get a room and the ddp together, without having to get the magic your way 1 day base ticket? My idea was for me to buy our park tickets in advance, so that they would be out of the way, and I didn't have to worry about them. But, I also want to get the ddp and the room together, or not, I just wasn't sure if I had to automatically get the 1 day base ticket, because it would be considered a package? In this case it would be a waste for me if I already had tickets. Sorry if this is confusing.
TIA

You can only get the DDP as part of a package which means room and tickets, so you would have to get at least the one day base ticket.
Have you found a cheaper place to get tickets? I know when I was researching for our first trip it worked out cheaper to get the tickets from Disney than even to buy them through CAA (same as AAA but Canadian LOL!)

If it's a question of cash flow, as in you want to pay for the tickets now and pay for the room and ddp later, you can still do that. Book your package and make payments. The full amount isn't due until 45 days before arrival. When I booked my package I paid the minimum deposit ($200 I think) then waited until the last week to pay the balance of $3000+. Dh is a numbers cruncher and insisted we make interest on the money instead of giving it to disney earlier than we had to.
Good luck.

Sonya is the best person to ask for this type of thing; I'm a Disney Vacation Club member so I always have to buy my tix separately and so I've done a package.

The only way to get the dining plan is to purchase a package which means you need at least a 1 day base ticket for each person. Finacially that's not the wisest idea (unless you're getting a killer deal on the package) because a one day base adult ticket plus tax is over $70 whereas a 6 day adult base ticket is only $221 and some change including tax or a daily fee of roughly $37. So when trying to calculate savings you need to add in that additional expense.
When you book your package you are required to put a $200 per room deposit down. The balance is due 45 days in advance (my agency says 60 days just for a buffer). You may make payments in between that time so long as it's paid in full by the deadline.
When you check in and are given you room key it will have coded on it
You can pay online with a credit card or call the 800 number and pay with a credit card. My friend actually mailed checks. But make sure you are very aware of the deadline and pay it in full before that!
