? about park hoppers

I was wondering.... and this is probably a ? for Sonya :o)

About how much do park hoppers run? I am thinking the no experation date ones with water parks. Now I am assuming no experation means just that, but are there any stipulations to that?

Also, If I buy one for my son who is 5 now, when he turns 10, can I upgrade it, and pay the difference? How does that work? Obviously prices will be raised by then, but just ballpark...
Thanks!
Carrie

Hi Carrie! I am going to give you a link to MouseSavers which is another wonderful resource of Disney info online.

:-) Val saved me a lot of typing.

Each option for your tickets is priced separately

  • including tax park hopping costs $47.93

  • including tax water park fun and more costs $53.25

  • including tax - both options together cost $101.18

  • no expiration costs vary depending on the length of your ORIGINAL ticket.

The only stipulation to the no expiration is that the ammount you pay is based on the # of days you originally bought your ticket for, not the # of days that you may have left if you choose to add it on at the end of your trip.

I will add to this since I've done it.

There is no charge to change the media if the media changes (as Sonya was alluding to). We had one day with park-hopping leftover from our '95 trip on an old type ticket media. In '99, I took it to the ticket window and she exchanged it for 1 day park hoppers on the new media.

(But, if you want the old tickets--ours were from our honeymoon with our pictures on it--you have to ask because she threw ours away and I didn't think about wanting to keep them until much later.)

Ok, I think I am confused... I think I was thinking no experation meant that you could go like 30 times on the same ticket if you wanted. If I bought 10 day park hoppers, then what you are all saying is once those 10 days are used up, that's it, but if we went for 5 days then another 5 day next year, that is what no expiration means. is this correct?

Using the 10 day ticket as an example

A 10 day base ticket will allow you entry to 1 park per day for 10

Sonya explained the "no expiration" option
