How many days do you recommend?

We have 4 days vacation, maybe 5 if we add Saturday instead of driving home during the day (13 hour drive). We were thinking 2 days Disneyland, 1 day California Adventure, and 1 day either Universal Studios or Legoland. We just can't decide and we don't get to vacation very often so any advice is very welcome and needed! If Disneyland is really the best of all those, should we spend 3 days there and forget California Adventure? We have 4 kids, 2 boys, 2 girls, ages 3-9.

Thank you!!!

I so wish I could help, but the last time I was at Disneyland, California Adventure was so new we just skipped it. We're definitely more WDW people. I hope someone here can help you out, though!!!!

Well, all of your Disneyland tickets are hopping tickets so you'll be able to leave California Adventure and walk back across to Disneyland if you decide that CA isn't working for you, so I wouldn't stress about that. I'd definately check it out though!

With the ages of your kids I'd choose Legoland over Universal Studios.

Hi! I wouldn't worry about planning specific days at Disneyland Park or at California Adventure. They are so close together (it takes about one minute to walk between the two entry gates) that you can easily go back and forth during the day each of the days that you are there. We have always done that and it's pretty rare that we spent any whole days in just one park. We always go for five days at a time, but we like to be able to do most everything and some things several times. You can certainly do the resort in three days, depending on what is important to you and how early you are willing to get up, LOL. It is definitely easier to get more done when the gates open than later in the day. The time of year you are going will make a difference with that, too, as it is harder to do more when it is more crowded, obviously. When are you going?

I wouldn't skip California Adventure altogether at all. There is tons that are kids like to do there and we really like that park. The Block Party Bash parade is awesome, the Aladdin show is great, your littlest one will like Playhouse Disney and the Bug's Land is great for little ones. And of course, Soarin' Over California for all of those who make the height requirement (40"). There are lots of other things, too, those just come to mind immediately. (If your older ones are thrill seekers, definitely check out California Screamin'--48" requirement)

And I'd also second that Legoland would definitely be the better choice of the two for kids that age.

Have a great time!!
