Water Parks questions for y'all
| Fri, 08-10-2007 - 9:55am |
Firs of all, I read somewhere that as a Florida resident I can get into the water parks super cheap if I go after 2pm. Can anyone confirm this? This would be perfect for us, b/c we are driving down either a Friday or a Thursday. Since DS still has an early bedtime I didn't want to "waste" $$ on a park ticket in the evening. I figure that instead of going to Downtown Disney (which we have done quite a few times) maybe we should hit the water parks that first afternoon. Second question - Which water park is best with a 2.75 yo? Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach? TIA for your help!

Hi, Ruth. I haven't been to the water parks yet but I looked on allears. They had the following information:
Admission discounts may also be given for mid-afternoon or later entry (check by calling (407) 824-4321)
I hope that will help!

I only went to TL before kids, once. BB has a really cute kids area with pint-sized tube slides, regular slides, and fountains. My kids both liked that area a lot when they were little! Actually, my 8 year old was able to play there in May, because he was just 48" when we went. It was mild for him, but a good way to "warm up" before we hit the other slides!

I've been to TL twice and BB once. Aly chose TL over BB due to Disney Channel (and they had shown both), but she's 10.
BB is way bigger and has more to do, especially for the little ones. But, it's much busier too. Every day that we actually looked on our recent trip, BB was already closed to capacity, and TL was always open (they would put that on the BB board outside the parking lot).
I preferred TL over BB on our honeymoon because we went in Sept & it was still hot. TL was completely shaded over, and we never had a problem walking on the cement barefoot. At BB, it was not shaded over (it was '95, and it opened either in '94 or '95, so it was brand-new) and we burnt really bad (and had to drive home like that) and we had to constantly find grass to walk on (and there was very little) and we were hopping around because the cement was HOT!!!
From what I understand, BB is more shaded over now since it's been longer.
