Ok where is my info I have 5 boys 16,15,14,6,2yrs 5mos at the time of vacation. DH and I will need 2 rooms, connecting and park hopper tickets. We will be vacationing in early may 2008. I have asked about an 8 day hopper, no dining and no ins. We will see what she has to say about that. Here is the email I got this morning. Since there are 7 of us she went with a grand gathering, 7 day park hopper and dining with ins. What do you guys think?

Allison

I have priced your grand gathering for you at Disney and this is what I have, if I need to change around anything and reprice just let me know I will be glad to.

Room 1 2 adults ad three kids ages 15, 14 and 2 tot 2997.66

Room 2 2 adults and two kids 13 and 5

Priced with the dining, 7 day hopper with the travel insurance at the All Star Movies

Ok AAA just wrote back and said
Ins 59.95 per adult ad the kids are covered under the adults.
Dining -The dining is the regular dining they have always had, I really don’t think you would benefit from the deluxe dining and it cost way to much I think.
7 vs 8 day hopper- The difference from a 7 day and a 8 day is only like $5, so if you think you might use it then I would go ahead and get it because once down there and you decide you want it, it will cost allot more than $5

Well what do you guys think? Ins or no? Dining or no? I was really considering dining, and this seems like a reasonable amount, just under 3000, but did they really take off snacks or is that just a rumor? Help DH thinks I am crazy!

Am I missing something--it looks like there are a total of nine people counted in rooms, but I only see seven of you--you, DH, and 5 boys. AAA has room one with 2 adult and 3 kids=5, room two with two adults and two kids=4 which totals nine? I'm confused.

They did not eliminate snacks from dining, but they did eliminate gratuities and appetizers from the table service meal.

Since just the price of dining for the six of you who need it is over $1400 (5x37.99+1x9.99 all times seven nights), I would say that looks like a good price for hotel and hoppers. But I'm new at pricing, so that just totally my opinion.

Yes that is where I am having a problem. She quoted me 2997.66 for 2 rooms with 2 adults per room. With dining. When I asked for 1 ad and 2 kids in 1 room and 1 ad with 2 kids in another, the price came out much higher? Why? We will see when she emails me back.

OK if you look at my 1st post, (i copied and pasted directly from her email) It looks to me that the total is 2997.66. According to AAA its 2997.66 per room. The problem I am having is the AAA website says "for a 6 night, 7 day stay its 503 per adult,225 per junior (10-17), and 186 per child (3-9)(no dining no park hopping, I need the hopping so I will pay the extra). Ok so I understand that I need 2 rooms but if I add correctly that comes to 1867. I am willing to pay a little more, but she came back with a quote for Room 1 one adult and two kids ages 16 and 15 no dining 1618.86 with dining 2416.65
Room 2 one adult and three kids ages 14, 6 and 2 without the dining 1580.52 and with the dining 2182.31
Does that seem right to you guys? Disney runs a promo for the same package for 1600. 2 Adults, 1 junior, and 1 child.Where is my savings? Somebody please point this out to me. I have planned a couple of trips to WDW but this is the 1st time I am thinking of going with AAA.

TIA

I haven't seen this addressed yet, but the comment about "once you're down there, it will cost a lot more than $5"...I think that's incorrect (someone???).

As long as you upgrade your ticket before you've used all the days, I'm pretty sure it will only cost you the difference between the 7-day and the 8-day.

Now, if you use the 7 days, then decide the next day, "Oh, let's go one more day", then it will cost you way more than $5! But as long as you upgrade while the tickets are still good, I'm pretty sure it only costs the difference.

Anyone???

OK here is my break down. Room 1 @ 1616.86 I cant figure it out. 503+225+225=953 thats a 665.86 difference. Room 2 1580.52, 503+225+186=914 the difference is 666.52. Where is the savings? Are they charging me for an extra adult? You know "based on double occupancy". I need help!

it loik slike she "added" 2 adults to your iterary to get you qualified as a grand gathering - which is for more than 8 people.

I'm not sure why she would do this, since now you have 2 extra "Adults' you are paying for and not using, and since you all need to be on the same plan, you now have 2 extra 7 day hoppers and 2 extra meal plans!!

I would ask her to break it down for you all the way...is she a Disney Specialist, or does she "just" work for AAA?

I don't know, but I will ask her on monday. I *think* that shes just a travel agent, after her name it says, Bahamas, Italt, Disney, etc. kind of thing.
Thanks,
Allison
