Anyone planning for 2008 yet?

DH and I sat down and talked about it a little today, I caught him when he came home from his 3-day camping trip with DS6, and he was so tired, he was agreeable so I'd shut up!

We're looking at May 23-31, staying at Pop or ASMusic with the deluxe dining plan, but we'll have to see what happens. I ran the prices on Disney's site, and it's quite a bit more than our package last year, BUT, I don't have the extra $$ that we spent on food and snacks to consider. It is also within $5.00 a day of what I came up with if we didn't do any dining plan at all. It's hard to see it, because I budgeted that separately last year, but the whole thing comes out about the same, and since the deluxe plan is 3 meals a day, 2 snacks per day, and the refillable mugs, I don't have any extra food to budget for!

The boys want to do the Pirate Cruise again, but that's going to be the only extra this time.

Anyone else???

We're looking at, but not solidly planning, Mardi Gras '08. That's the first week of Feb. It'll be 2 nights and 3 park days (like we did in '04). Pop is our top resort choice right now.

We are planning for June 8th to June 14th (or so) of 2008. We'll probably stay at the pop since we have a family of 7 and will need 2 rooms. I haven't decided on the dining plan yet. Did you use the dining plan last year? I see you are doing the deluxe plan this year. Do you think it's worth the money? We will have to pay the adult price for 5 out of the 7 of us since 3 of our kids are 10 and up. Also Steph, could you please tell me about the pirate cruise. That is something my boys might like. Happy planning!

No Disney for us next year. We're taking a NCL cruise to the Bahamas in June instead. We *were* going to go to Disney in June, but we decided that since we're celebrating my 40th birthday, we really should plan to do something new and different. My boys are excited about the cruise, and we are too. I just hope I don't compare the vacation on a whole to Disney. LOL

If we *had* gone ahead with our Disney plans, we would have driven this time, from PA, and left the weekend after school let out (I think it ends June 4 or something like that). We were considering staying at the WL for the first time, but knowing me, I'd have a hard time justifying the money and we'd stay at the Pop again. And we both agreed that we wouldn't use the dining plan again. We've used it twice already, but we found it too confining and I just don't want all of those sit-down meals again. A few is fine, but 7 or 8 of them is too many for us. Now that the tip isn't included, I think we'll be saving money just paying OOP. I'm not sure when we are returning to Disney....I'm thinking maybe June of 2010.

My youngest son did the pirate cruise from the Grand Floridian in May this year and LOVED it. It was our gift to him for his 8th birthday, which he had celebrated the week we were in Disney. He had a great time and came home with a ton of "loot" and a Mickey Ears bandana hat. It includes a little lunch too (uncrustable, goldfish, juice box). I thought it was a good value (for Disney anyway!)

I am booking (with Sonya)today for February. We have decided to "go all the way" and stay at WL. The price was a little more than I wanted, but we really had our heart set on WL. I stayed on property in 1997, but husband and kids have never stayed on property. We always stay off property with a discount.

I am in planning mode too! We are going May 24-May 31 and staying at All Star Movies per dd#2's request (she is a huge Herbie the Love bug fan). I would prefer Pop but dh also prefers Movies so they won. Still toying with meal ideas, I am pretty sure we will do Crystal Palace for breakfast, Sci-fi for either lunch or dinner, and maybe Boma for dinner the night we arrive. We will do BBB again both girls loved it last time. This time we will actually leave Disney property for one day (LOL) and hit the beach in Tampa/Clearwater area. Other than that we stay on property and take advantage of Disneys transportation.

Yep! We will be at Saratoga Springs arriving June 2 and leaving June 9th. This is our first time to the World, so we are currently looking at all of our choices and debating which dining plan would be best. I'd love to do the Deluxe, but I'm not sure I can justify the money (although when I priced it separately for each of the meals we'd like to do using online menus, it came out only slightly less than what we would pay for the Deluxe plan anyway)...who knows where we'll end up there. It will be DH, me, DS7 and DS5, and my mom (we'll be in a two-bedroom). Also debating if we need hoppers or not. I think the kids would love the pirate cruise, but neither of them will eat the uncrustables (who said their kid was the only one...yours has friends here, LOL). Still lots of time for us to plan!
