Eating in Epcot...

DH and I were discussing what to do with out "extra" day now that we are arriving in WDW at the weekend instaed of on the Monday as originally planned.

I know I've mentioned this here before and got some good suggestions, but DH has said he would like to go to Epcot, we have one visit scheduled there for Princess StoryBook breakfast later in the week which is in the World Showcase of course. Last time we went there we pretty much only did that side (apart from Soaring and Living with the Land rides) so it would be nice to do the Innoventions parts too.

I originally had us booked in to Shutters at the CBR where we're staying that night, but I was thinking that we won't get to Epcot until at least lunchtime and it would be nice to stay longer and eat there.

SO all this to say I am looking for ideas of places to eat in the Innoventions side of Epcot. I've heard Coral Reef is nice any other suggestions?

I know it's late at this stage to get an ADR but I may be lucky especially if I have a few choices - so fire away ladies please.

The only other TS not in the world showcase is Garden Grill in the land which is a character meal. I have heard good things about the food. Or, you could try the San Angel Inn in Mexico which is in the "out skirts" of World Showcase, lol. It doesn't seem like a long walk to that part of the World. If you wanted to do counter service, there is Electric Umbrella or Sunshine Seasons, but I have no BTDT experience to offer. I am afraid my family is not very adventuresome....we ate at Liberty Inn in the American Adventure!

Hope that helps a little :)

Thanks - I've just been looking at the Epcot restaurants and calling Disney Dining, I was hoping for a miracle and a Coral Seas booking (I tried several different days but still no joy)

Anyway I have pretty much abandoned the Innoventions side as far as food goes lol! The Garden Grill didn't call to me somehow, but San Angel did - we saw it when we were there last time and it looked lovely, they only had a 4:45 (too early) and a 7:45 slot left so I did book the later one, I am not sure though if we will keep it,I think eating that late will mean we miss the fireworks - I am not sure what time they start. However we will be back later in the week so we can see them then.

I also checked on Nine Dragons since we all (even my picky 9yr old DD) love Chinese food, they have lots of space still so I also made an ADR there for 6:30. I will ask DH what he would prefer tonight and cancel 2 of our 3 ressies for that night once he has picked one!

Illuminations always starts at 9:00, with exceptions I think around Christmas.

Depending on when you are going, Teppan Edo (Teppanyaki, name change with refurb) may be back open, we've eaten there once and loved it. There is also Marrakesh, we enjoyed it, and also San Angel Inn.

Oh, so our 7:45 dine time at San Angel should get us out in time to see the show - although finding a good spot to see it from could be a different story!

I wondered about Teppan....whatever, too, DH and I like Japanese food and DD would love to see the "show" of it being prepared, but I htouht I had read it will still be closed for refurb while we are there

Thanks

I would recommend Teppan Edo. We ate here (when it was called teppanyaki) and food was great (probably one of our best meals) and it was entertaining for kids as well.

Nine Dragons is very good as well. Not much posting about this place on this board, but I can tell you it was very good and service was great.

I showed my choices to DH last night and he said "oh yes, either of those look nice", then he got to browsing and he said "how about Marrakesh?...." lol!

So It seems that I will be back on hold with WDW this afternoon for yet another ADR!

I booked our ADRs for February 2008 trip this week. Slow process, but they are very good at trying to answer questions and get you what you want and make other suggetions. Can you believe that I got the last ressie for Le Cellier and the trip is in Feb 2008! She must have meant for that time or something. It can't be for the entire night... or can it? I know that is a popular place....

I'd go with the San Angel because the view of the ride is very nice and the food was good (not great.)

I had heard that the Rose and Crown was a good place to watch from, our "but" there is that although we have lived in Canada for the last 19 years we are transplanted Brits and I don't really want to go all the way to Florida to eat British food lol!
