Ok, so I'm fully aware that it's Princess mania these days, but what's a Mom who only has a boy (who will be 4.5 when we go) to do?

Really, I think he'd be down for a Princess meal, he loves Jasmine and Ariel, but all I'm reading about it truthfully geared towards girls....please, BTDT folks, tell me that I'm completely wrong and there's plenty for boys...Please? ;0)

Oh my, no way is it all princesses and girly stuff! My dd is a HUGE tom-boy and can't stand the princesses (unlike her mom) and loves Disney. Characters that are boy-friendly: Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, Donald, Stitch, Jiminy, the characters from Robin Hood, the characters from Toy Story, the characters from Monsters, Inc., Tarzan & his friends, Pinocchio, Chip & Dale, Flik, Hopper...I'm sure there are more, I just can't think of more at the moment, lol. Ok, then there are the attractions that are boy-friendly - Stich's great escape, Monster's Inc, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, the Barnstormer, the Indy racetrack...and that's just at Magic Kingdom! Animal Kingdom has lots of boy-friendly attractions including Tough to be a Bug, Dinosaur, Kali River Rapids, Kilaminjaro Safari, and tons more. And then there's Epcot - between Mission Space, Test Track, Soarin', The Seas with Nemo, and innoventions, it's VERY boy-friendly. And don't forget MGM studios - the car stunt show, the indiana jones show, tower of terror, rock n roller coaster, star tours...

And the list goes on! Your son will definitely have a good time!!!

Enjoy!!!

Well...as a mom of two boys (ages 12 and 8), I can understand what you are talking about. It would be really nice to see a Toy Story meal, or a Villians meal or something like that.

We've been to Disney five times with our kids (and several times without them!)and we've always done Chef Mickey's for dinner and they've really enjoyed that. We've also done the Pooh breakfast at the Crystal Palace, which they both enjoyed. We've done Donald's Breakfastasaurus at the Animal Kingdom, which none of us liked. And this past May, we went to 1900 Park Fare to have dinner with Cinderella. It was our first time dining with a Princess, and we did it for me and my Mom. The boys were fine with the idea of going and actually ended up liking it better than Chef Mickey's!! They both loved the food!! My oldest asked me if we could go there again sometime (I know it is for the food and not for Cindy....LOL...although he did think she was "cute"...LOL)

I think any of the Mickey and Friends meals, or the Lilo and Stitch breakfast, would be loved by a little boy. And if you *can* sneak a Princess meal in there, try 1900 Park Fare....it comes highly recommended by two big boys! LOL

I have boy/girl twins and everytime we've gone my DS has had just as much fun as my DD. Actually he is more pushing to go back than she is at the moment.

We just got back, and it was my boy's (9yo) first visit. He's not into pirates so it was a bit annoying how much emphasis there was on pirates everywhere, due to the current Pirate and Princess parties, the pirate tutorial with Jack Sparrow at the MK (which incidentally DS did enjoy as an observer although he would never volunteer for such a thing), etc. However, there was plenty for him. I do second the OPs wish that there was a Toy Story meal. DS was not into the Woody's roundup (I think it's what it was called) parade/song/dance thingy at Frontierland as I think he thought it too babyish (they were doing the hokey pokey with mainly preschoolers as participants) but he did get his autograph with Buzz at MGM and later wish he had Woody's autograph and also the Inredibles (which we skipped because the line was long). Oh also more Cars stuff would be great I think...we also did the photo op with them at MGM. But you know what, out of all the characters my DS ended up having Pluto become his favorite and had some great interaction with him at the AK breakfast (which was otherwise less than satisfactory from my point of view) and especially at the Epcot Character spot early in the morning (while DH ran to get us Fast Passes to Soarin' or something). So I would recommend the Woody's thing at MK (it's not heavily advertised) for your child's age and definitely character meals.
Hope that helps!
