NE1 purchase tickets at the Disney Store
| Thu, 08-30-2007 - 6:19pm |
DH went to the Disney store at lunch time and purchased our tickets for this weekend. They told him at the store that we are still going go have to go to "customer service" to activate them. Does this mean that we have to stand in line as if we were purchasing tickets on the spot? What's the point of buying these things in advance then?! That's exactly what I wanted to avoid!

You're in Florida, right?
I think there are different procedures for buying tickets in Florida Disney Stores because WDW is in Florida. I remember stipulations in the past on the Florida Disney Stores but I don't remember what because if I'm getting all the way to Florida, might as well buy them there or at the Ocala Welcome Center.
I'm pretty sure we did buy tickets from our Disney Store in the past, but too far back to make any difference for you because it was a different type of ticket....before MYW.
We purchased the FL resident 3-day pass b/c it had a 6 mo expiration. All the other passes had 14 day expiration, except, of course the yearly/seasonal passes. Anyway, I called Disney last night and the lady explained to me that what I bought at the Disney store is not a ticket, but a certificate. We still have to go to guest relations to prove that both of us are FL residents, and then they will exchange the certificates for our tickets. Oh well. At least we are driving down tonight so it won't be as painful to try to be at the ticket line even earlier than we had planned.

I was thinking that, but wasn't quite sure they offered Florida-only passes there, so didn't mention it.
And of course that would be why...have to prove that you're FL residents THERE.
DTD and all the resorts have Guest Relations if you can go by tonight to take care of that so you don't have to go so early in the morning.
If you're going to MK first and will do it there, if you have to do it at the MK booth as opposed to the TTC ticket booth, make sure you make your way to the right after getting off the monorail.
In 2004, we each had one day left on previous passes, but that was before MYW, and to get park hoppers, we had to get 4-day passes (which is why we had another one-day left on them this trip). So, instead of just holding on to the tickets (we were in a not-so-good money situation), we wanted to upgrade. They can't upgrade at the TTC booth when going to MK. You have to do it at the MK booth. Well, we were there about 10-15 minutes before opening (which is unbelievable for us...we're usually 10am people, not 9am). There were people waiting at the turnstiles for the morning show to start to open the gates. The ticket booth is to the far right after the bag check and past those turnstiles. Well, we couldn't get through to the right because of all the people waiting in line for the turnstiles (and of course no one will let us through because they think we're just trying to get ahead of them at the turnstiles!). So, we had to wait until the "show" was over and the turnstiles opened to move to the right to the ticket booth.
