Riley will be 2.5 when we go to WDW in October... is Fantasmic going to be too scary or too loud for her?

I want to eat dinner at the Brown Derby.

I think Fantasmic is great. We are also going in Oct and taking our grandson who is 9. We ate at the Brown Derby when we went in 2002, just me and my DH. I loved the Creme Brule i had for dessert. They do have Mickey mouse shaped things for dessert for children.

We LOVE Fantasmic! It's a "do not miss" for my family.

We've taken kids of all ages without trouble. You know your own child best though. Would she be afraid of a loud and somewhat scary movie in a theater? The entire show isn't scary, but parts of it can be for some kids.

I can't recall ever seeing a child freaking out during the show, but I'm sure it happens.

Fantasmic is just about our favorite thing about WDW.

Hi Karin - we saw Fantasmic at Disneyland but, to be perfectly honest, I didn't really "see" it because my 6 year old was climbing all over me during the show because he was frightened (and we had terrible seats - long story). Now DS has always, until

we finally got to F! this trip, DS was 2 in June, so he was 28 months at time of trip.

HE did well, even better when I remembered that I had earplugs for him. my 5YO fell asleep during it LOL!

You know your child the best. If she is easily scared by fireworks, or loud noises, then you may want to skip it ths year, but if those things do not bother her, then go for it and bring ear protection! We had a special needs child sitting in front of us, but even with the earphones they brought, she only lasted about 5 minutes before they had to leave.

My family really enjoyed it!! (I have a 6YO as well. Dh was less than thrilled with the bench seats, bu that's another story LOL!)

My youngest DS turned two just a few days before we went to see it and he got upset during the parts of the show that involved fire. He was not "freaking out", but he clung to me and whimpered. He was not afraid of the other parts of the show, loud noises, or fire works on that trip or this past trip (just shy of 3). I agree with the others that you know your child best and know what she will like or not like. My oldest DS was 4 and is prone to be frightened by movies (he was terrified of Toy Story). I just explained the "plot" of the show and that Mickey wins in the end and he did fine. I think the fire made him a little nervous too. We were sitting about half way up in the reserved section.

HTH. Enjoy your trip!
