Spending Money Questions

Sorry I have bombarded the board with tons of questions today. Hopefully this should be my last one!
DH and I are trying to come up with a reasonable amount of spending money for the trip. We have decided on an amount for tips and extra food, above the dining plan, now we are on to how much we need for general memorabilia. The kids already have enough stuffed animals, toys, and clothes so we are going to try and avoid that. The only exception may be the box of Mr Potato Head Parts and My Little Pony Accessories. We might just try and stick with one set of mouse ears for the kids. Do you guys have a ball park idea of how much Mouse ears run? We already have a lanyard and a few starter pins. I am trying to think of what else I may be missing. We are huge picture people so I will be taking advantage of EVERY photopass opportunity. I am trying to avoid spending a lot of money on stuff that will have to haul home just go into a drawer until the sad day when it gets shipped off to goodwill because of neglect. DD is four and obsessed with the princesses so I am sure she will ask for lots of those items and DS is 15 months and probably couldn't care less about all of the stuff. DH won't buy anything and my only weakness is scrapbooking. Thank you guys for your input!

It is always good to budget things ahead of time. You are smart!
I cannot remember exactly the cost of mouse ears, but I *think* it's about $15 for the kids' ears. My only contribution here is to note that the embroidery on the back (if you want names on the back) is free. Free is good, right? :)
We purchase our pins on Ebay anymore....not at the parks. We also didn't want to buy them and put them in a drawer....so we display them nicely in a shadow box.

Something we did with my girls that your DD might enjoy and is cheap and usable after the trip is the charm necklaces or bracelets.
That's a great idea - you can get the starter ones anywhere?
V-
The regular black mouse-ears are $9.95 for adults, and $8.95 for kids. It costs $6.00 to have their names embroidered on the back. The new blue light up *Dreams* ears are $14.95.
(Plus tax of course).
When are you coming to the parks? If it's in timeframe when it's still hot out, I suggest getting a mist fan at walmart or walgreens. They are $17 at the parks.
Also, the rain ponchos are $7 for adults and $6 for kids...if you want disney ones, then get those otherwise bring your own raingear.
As far as the pin trading goes...I agree with the Ebay suggestion. Get a cheap auction of pins and use those to trade. It's alot of fun and can be a bit addicting, but if you don't have enough pins to get started, you will end up spending too much money on starter pins.

The pricing on the ears is interesting....no more free embroidery, but cheaper ears. Makes sense! Can the "Dreams" ears be embroidered? I can't remember. They light up, don't they?
My kids are funny about pin trading. They LOVE the pins they have and refuse every trade offer. I do think I will grab a few Ebay pins specifically for trading. Great idea.

My oldest is allergic to nickle so couldn't get the charm necklace or bracelet BUT they also have a cute little denim purce with a charm chain around it that she did buy (and uses). The purse itself is about 5x7x1 with a L O N G strap - we knotted dd's when she was 6- and has a princess pepto bismal pink crown embroidered on it surrounded by silver glitter embroidery. It's totally cute. I know I posted pictures of it on here sometime, but don't remember when.
Hey Sonya
Sweet Spells on Sunset in MGM still has those tubes of pixie dust candy. I was just in there the other day and saw it.
Just and FYI for you.

Awesome! I won't tell Kait until our next trip though or I won't hear the end of it! Last year they had taken them out of Goofy's and the shop at the Contemporary and all of MK. What's sad is they were there in August, but gone in December and Kait had spent a great deal of time telling her cousin about it! LOL
We buy doubles of some pins (mostly from ebay) so that DD will trade - she will in no way give up a pin that she likes LOL!
