shoes to wear?

Hi all! We're going for our first time in October. I was just wondering if sandels are ok, or do they have a "no open toe" policy to ride the rides? If so, do they allow sandels that cover the toes?
Thanks!
Debbie

I am not aware of any footwear policies at the parks....other than the roller skate shoes (Heeleys) not being allowed.
I've seen plenty of people in flip-flop or thong-type shoes around WDW!
Whatever makes you most comfy. Because comfy is key. :) We're athletic-shoe type people....which can be hot, but it saves our feet.

Yup, what Laurie said!
We bring a few different types of shoes along, including sneakers and flip flops. I tended to wear my Merrell slides most of the time, and my knock-off Croc flip flops the other days. My kids alternated between sandals, crocs and sneakers.
Pretty much anything goes in WDW!

Debbie,
Very few people know this, but the sandal is the official shoewear of Florida. (JK!!!)
Seriously, though, you should wear THE most comfortable pair of shoes that you own. It's not so much the walking around, but the standing in line that kills your feet.
