I was wondering, for those of you who have BTDT, how do you pack, especially for an 8 and 12 yo, without them knowing what you're up to?

In my house, I'm notorious for not getting the laundry folded in a timely manner so it would be easy-I'd just keep everything that I planned on taking in the laundry basket so that I could just pop it in the suitcase when I was leaving.

I guess it depends on where you keep your suitcases normally. Ours are normally accessible in my closet. So when I took my oldest on a surprise trip for her 8th birthday I was able to toss things in the suitcase at night when she was asleep. I also started snatching her clothes from the laundry basket a little at a time. That was a short trip so it was easier, but I'd just go grab a pair of shorts here, or a top there, another time socks and underwear. She does her own laundry most of the time so it was REALLY easy for me to tell her that she must not have washed yet.

We have a Disney Cruise planned in April and it will be a total surprise. The 2 year old will not notice but the 15 year old certainly would.

It will be the wrong season for clothes so I will just make sure when I put away the summer things I keep our trip in mind.
