Saturday night I have a party to go to. Last year I won first prize for best costume. I was a go go dancer and a very hot one at that. I couldn't possibly top that so this year I am just going as a festive guest in a black skirt and orange silk blouse.

Sunday morning I have a Halloween Jazzercise class. There'll be snacks and three instructors are co teaching with costumes on. A little kitschy but what the hay.

I can't wait to take my little ones trick or treating. I hope that trick or treaters come to our house, but they usually don't. We live on a busy street.

We usually then weed through the candy looks safe and then I sit and beg my children to please give mom some treats. Hopefully there'll be something good on t.v.. I'll light the candles in the fireplace and make hot cocoa. I bought glow sticks for our jack o lantern, much safer than candles.

OH, and Jen said something about the pumpkin getting squishy. Guess what? Ours got squishy last year and a pumpkin plant grew in that spot this year and a pumpkin grew. Isn't that a hoot? It's organic and everything.

that's great - when ours got rotty i just dumped into the azalea bushes, but i haven't seen a pumpkin grow in its place. i guess we must have done a good job getting all the seeds out. maybe i'll leave some seeds in this year and see if a pumpkin grows!

I'm not entirely sure yet. We may be doing a scary-movie fest on Saturday night. I would like to have or go to a party but I don't think I have the energy. :) Sunday I imagine we'll give out candy to the trick-or-treaters. Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday and I'm disappointed that life's been too hectic and crazy to decorate or do much in the way of plans.

I haven't seen a really scary movie in a long time. The Blair With Project freaked me out a little because I thought it was a true story. The Mothman Prophesies was pretty scary, but a movie hasn't really horrified me in a long time. Has anyone seen The Grudge? I've seen previews but it doesn't look that scary to me.

I haven't seen The Grudge, but I may. There's another one coming out on Friday called Saw, that looks pretty intense. It's not a monster movie though... more of a psychological thriller.

My all time favorite is probably The Shining (w/Jack Nicholson). I still cannot watch that movie at night by myself. :)

i also thought the shining was REALLY scary when i saw it literally decades ago, but i wonder how many of the movies that scared me as a child or as a pre-teen would scare me now. i remembered being really scared by children of the corn when i first saw it as a pre-teen - i just saw it a couple of weeks ago and it's not scary at ALL!!! T even watched it with me, and he won't watch anything that is remotely scary!!! he has nightmares from X-files episodes. so it makes me wonder if movies like the Omen, the Shining, etc. are actually scary.

Funny that you mention Children of the Corn. I actually got that DVD for Christmas last year and DH and I just recenlty watched it. Now, as a child, that movie scared me to death. After watching it fairly recently I just thought "Okay, that was lame." :)

The Shining is still really spooky to me though. I remember being 5 years old seeing it in a movie theater and seeing Jack say "Heeeere's Johnny". *shiver* :)

Oooooh, I love scary video games but haven't found any in a long time. Back in college, I got hooked on "Phantasmagoria" (which was a PC game). Is Silent Hill 2 an xbox game? I sort of gave up on looking for scary games because they end up being stupid kill-the-monster deals.
