I think we all experience that on occasion. Beating yourself up over it does more harm than good. It's only been a couple of days so relax, take a deep breath and start anew. Remember you can't gain weight any faster than you can lose it (and vice versa) and when you make healthier food choices the mind & body respond positively and immediately. So, instead of stressing about what & how much you ate recently (it was only 2 days for gosh sake) just decide to make better choices starting now. Start by having a calming, comforting cup of tea or a tall, cool glass of water & imagine it flushing the crud from your body and mind.

Good luck & take care.

Just wanted to post a note of support since I've been there, done that, and have a closet full of tshirts (would you like to borrow one?). Feeling out of control is an awful thing and I usually do a couple of things to reign myself back in. I will journal a bit and see if I can find out if I'm stress eating, eating out of boredom, eating because of (perceived) deprivation, etc. I often use this "event" as a reason to change something about my current workout routine ~ I'll make myself a new weights program or try a new class... just something to get me excited about it. I also scour my Cooking Light magazines or my cookbooks for some healthy recipes to make. If I can get excited about healthy food again, it becomes a lot easier to stay focused and on track. Lastly, I remind myself that I do have goals and eating healthy is a large part of those goals. I remind myself that this is about choices... no one is forcing me to do anything. I hope that helps. *hugs* Hang in there.

Definitely everyone goes through that, as soleil and kel pointed out.

I like the idea of "flushing curd"...I'll get the glass of water right after I log off....It has been more than two days that I have been like this but the past two days have been especially bad.

ditto. and i think one way to feel better instantly is get in a really good workout. channel your frustration into your workout and when you are done, you WILL feel more in control and have a better outlook.

i think that white flour has a physical effect on me that when i eat it, i want more and more and more and i get hungrier and hungrier and hungrier. that's why i feel like i need to "detox" by cutting it out completely for a while. then i can only have it for a treat - and believe me, once i'm "off" white flour, when i have it again it's like i'm high. it physically gives me a high. same thing with sugar. which makes sense, since to our bodies, white flour is essentially the same thing as sugar. so that just confirms that it isn't something i should be eating often! white flour is my "crack" i swear.

anyway, i think it's a good choice to get off atkins and i'm sure your cholesterol will go down now. but maybe cutting out the white flour for a while might be something that would help you, if you are like me at all.

You do have a lot of stuff going on, plus being sick always throws you for a loop.
