have you listened to the samples? i can't listen here at work, but that's how i would pick if i were you. listen for the ones that you can hear the 32 count the easiest. that's how i chose my first cds, and i'm glad i did.

i don't recognize the songs. they may be written just for powermusic.

Most of my cd's are from Power Music and I think they are great. My orders arrive at my house in about 2 days, and the quality is excellent. I don't have any mid-tempo cd's but all the step ones I really like. Personally I do not really like pop stuff but you can't exactly get away from that and I find I learn to like or at least tolerate everything that I own.

Have you tried any of the sports conditioning ones?

This is my favourite cd EVER:
http://www.powermusic.com/store/prodinfo.asp?number=EFF0412&variation=&aitem=5&mitem=6

I use it for step with the pitch up and also for muscle conditioning classes. The people who do my class always ask for this CD and often comment about how much they like it after class.

i have that one - i LOVE it too. too slow for kickboxing though, and i don't think Jean's gym has a variable pitch.

Most of my music has come from www.powermusic.com, or at conferences..... for kickboxing, I use Thomas the Promise mixes, and love them... I have used some Lisa Gaylord mixes too.

For step, I like alot of the pop music mixed.

it's easy to change the pitch - just start doing the activity (like marching if you are trying to pitch it for hi/lo) and see if you are moving too fast or too slow. you don't need to have a good sense of the beat - you know from years of classes whether music is too fast or too slow when you are moving to it.
