I'm going to put together baskets for the instructors who've been really helpful with getting me to teach.

What a nice idea, Jean! You are so thoughtful and more than generous. I think that is more than enough stuff in the basket and all are things the instructors can use. Maybe a foot cream? I know how my "dogs" hurt even before I had the surgeries. I wish someone would have thought of something like that for me when I was teaching regularly.

that's really nice of you. i can't think of anything else cheap to include. i would think the number one thing that instructors would want is music. but that's too expensive to buy for all of them and i know you aren't going to bootleg it!

instead of cookies, if you baked something like homemade granola bars, i bet they'd like that more. cookies are ubiquitous around christmas, and most instructors would probably like something healthier that they can grab on the way to the gym.

Do you get gifts as instructors? I go to one of my classes a few times a week with the same instructor and we are not friends or anything we say hello to each other and causually may talk once a month, but I was thinking a small candle or something would be nice to show her how much I appreciate her class, it is my favorite and she is really good. But I feel like such a dork here is your christmas gift to someone I barely know.

i don't think it is dorky, i think she'd really appreciate it. a lot of people give gifts to people they barely know. i always give a gift to my letter carrier - i barely know him.

Instructors love getting little things from the participants. I have gotten plants and cookies and cash and I didn't even think they liked me. WE are such an insecure bunch, we instructors. I was pleasantly surprised and it did wonders for my self esteem. Don't feel silly at all. With what instructors make per class and the money they lay out for music, videos, and fitness apparel, it would be very much appreciated.

BTW...I love candles! Wink! It is a good idea.

I'll look at the body shop and see what I can find.

I was thinking of those energy bar biscotti that I posted the recipe for. That and something really decadent.
