I go into all stores w/ sneakers. My mom can't believe what I wear when I go out.

yes, dc is stuffy and "buttoned down". new york is very fashion conscious, but if your sneakers are cool enough, you can go anywhere with them in NYC! this is why i love my earth shoes, especially my boots - https://secure7.nexternal.com/vegane/images/MirageTanFinalXL.jpg.

they are super stylish but also super comfortable. i won't wear uncomfortable shoes. i'm very picky about shoes! they must be stylish, comfortable, animal-free, AND sweatshop free.

3 more work days until Cuba!!

We are having our bathrooms remodeled so my mom had put away the scale so it wouldn't get dusty. Therefore, I haven't weighed myself in almost 3 weeks! I got it out today just so I can have an idea "pre-Cuba" - and I am down 3 pounds from where I was the last time I weighed. I am not happy though - my bf took some pictures of me in lingerie over the weekend and I look POSITIVELY TERRIBLE in them...my stomach is hanging out all over the place and I was sucking it in while he took the pictures!! I don't care if I don't lose any more weight scale wise but that stomach has got to go. I am really REALLY REALLY going to watch what I eat while on vacation, it would feel unnatural for me to do otherwise. I am going to exercise every day down there either by going to the hotel gym (they also have classes every day), swimming, walking, the Big Nasty or a combination of all of the above. There you have it written for everyone to see.

Today, food wise:

Breakfast: whole grain bagel, low fat cream cheese, smoked salmon, baby spinach, V8
Lunch: whole wheat pasta with Emeril's kicked up sauce (this was disappointing; I had to add chili pepper flakes), oven roasted veggies, grilled chicken
Dinner: ???
Snacks: (choice of) raw veggies w/ranch dip, tamari almonds, cashews, clementines, bananas, babybel cheese, Snyders of Hanover Veggie Crisps

Exercise: teaching step tonight.

it's got a lot of shredded veggies, like cabbage, bell peppers, jicama, and i think some kind of vinegar and some herbs &/or spices. it doesn't have any mayo or anything like that. i got it at whole foods at the prepared foods counter. it's healthy and tastes good.

IF they were stylish and not my old aerobics shoes. There was a time when I spent so much time putting together outfits, down to accessories, scarves, etc.

Good Monday afternoon! Going to pot luck dinners is a hard one to find good eats. It always amazes me how most people don't know how to cook healthy foods.

I am determined to get in as much exercise as possible this week and I had a good start. I did 35 minutes on the elliptical after not using it for 4 weeks. Then I did about 20 minutes of weights and then abs. I "had" to meet Undone...yeah, my arm was twisted...LOL! We did BJs and then Linen and Things and then the diner. OOPS! We were good...we both had soup and salad for brunch. It was delightful and I felt so grown up.

Dinner will be the rest of my salad and whatever is leftover in the fridge. Poor family will have to do with leftovers. Don't know why I feel sorry for them...it is leftover shrimp cocktail and shrimp parmesan in there. I will make some fresh pasta and salad for them.

OK...

That is it for now. The tree is still not up and just maybe I will do some cards. Have to get DH to put the tree in the stand so I can get my house together.

Grace
