all the women I was sitting with go to the same church as me, but they were about 40 years older than me. So I ate my lunch, and left immediately after. So it could have been worse, but I don't think I'm going to go next year.

No, I won't get that japanese straightening because then it looks funky as you try and grow it out.

I never thought about that part. It's the reverse of growing out a perm. You end up with frizzy ends and straight near the top.

Well in order to maintain the straightness you have to get touch ups on your roots.

thank you, i really love it. i don't go out of my way to show it off though. i spend a lot more time and effort (in the summer) trying to cover it up so it doesn't get sun! i had the worst farmer's tan this summer from keeping it out of the sun (especially when jean and i went surfing) - so it would be pretty counterproductive to try to flaunt myself in tank tops with a dorkilicious farmer's tan. T and i were just talking tonight about how we are going to have to make sure to keep our tattoos covered when we go to hawaii. i was thinking about getting one of those UV protective shirts - does anyone have one and if so, do they work well?

i never really meant for other people to notice it and it was a big shock when i first got it that SO many people would comment to me about it. i really didn't expect it to get such a huge reaction. now i don't really think about whether other people can see it or not. like today in the locker room at the gym a woman said "how beautiful" and gestured to me, and i was like, "what? my necklace? oh the tattoo, thanks."
