Since I kind of harp on the feeling good/healthy parts of fitness more than the rest--we have 5 months until Jen's trip and the beginning of swimsuit weather and then 7 months to get ready for DCAC.

Hi Rayah!
thanks for the welcome!
I didn't realize that D&F channel had this type of board! I'm glad I checked it out. it's hard to find other women that are into working out like I am. A lot of people just casually workout, and although that's great, I really need to talk with people that know what serious working out is!!! My bf is okay to talk to, but he forgets that women and men are engineered differently!

hi! welcome to gym rats! that's awesome that you are doing a half ironman in August - that's a serious race. have you done any triathalons before? are you shooting for a specific time on your triathalons? i don't think we have any competitive athletes around here lately, so it's great to have you here. keep us updated on how your training is coming!
your hair sounds cute. that's how i'd color mine if i weren't sick of getting it colored so often!

Hi everyone and Happy New Year. Welcome Rayah! I love working out but the thought of training for a triathalon makes me feel tired! Good for you... please keep us posted on your progress, because it would be interesting to hear how your training is going and what you have to do.
As for my changes, I have the wedding in July and the reception in Dec. so I'd like to tone up my arms a little bit for the strapless dress and stay my current weight so I can still zip it up. That's about it.. oh, maybe I'll get a pedicure or something this year -- my feet are really "athletic-looking." (I basically cut my toenails and put lotion on my feet- I am too lazy to polish and do all that other stuff that girls do to make them look nice.)
I would love to get my nose pierced... anyone here have that? I love how it looks w/a tiny diamond stud. I also wonder if the hole would be noticeable if I ever chose to let it close?
I have to loose weight to compete in my old weight class. I am afraid to move up a couple of weight classes because those girls are sooooo tall. I hate sparing tall people because it is hard for me to kick without getting kicked.

I had to be physically restrained for the two tattoos. LOL!! And they are both very small. For the record... it didn't matter for me where they were located, on is on bone and one is on fleshy flesh and it was extreamly painful both times!
I did a sprint triathlon last summer. I'm not exactly a competitive athlete... I'm about 5'3" and 120 pounds at goal and in shape (about 132.5 now, but who's counting?). I'm short and stocky and make a better cheerleader than an athlete. I really just do it to accomplish a goal. I was about 70 pounds overweight in high school and now that I can physcially do these things, it's fun. I never come out on top, rather usually near the bottom of my age class, but I really enjoy training and then saying I DID IT when it's over with. It keeps me in shape, keeps me young, and keeps me out of trouble! LOL! The half will be a challenge, but I'm willing to give it my all. Why not? right?
Thanks for the welcome!

Thank you so much for the welcome! Everyone here is so nice!!! not that I thought otherwise. LOL!
I can empathise with the "athletic feet"... now if I could muster up the courage to let strangers touch my feet, I'd be right there with you on the pedicure! Let me know if you get it done!
