I would guess it works because you just can't eat that many calories in fruit. I mean a cup of watermelon only has 40-some calories. My cousin lost weight on a few days of brown rice, beans and veggie.
Yes, it's still 6 long weeks. I think I could do light activity, like walking, right now. I would probably be ready for my step class in 4 weeks and weights in 6. But, I'm going to listen to my doctor and take things slowly.
what is "bricking"? i'm ignorant about triathalon logistics.
do you grind your flax seeds? i've heard your body can't break them down to get the nutrients unless they are ground, and it's such a messy procedure to grind them that
probably, but i also like doing it because fruit is so light on the digestion, and it makes me feel like i'm getting all the yucky heavy foods out of my system. to me, it feels like it "detoxs" all the junk. but again, i don't have any scientific basis for this - it might be terrible for me for all i know!
bricking is this painful thing that happens to your legs when you get off of a long bike ride and try to run. When you're biking, the blood in your body is pumped through the muscles necessary to run the bike, which, of course, are not the same muscles that your legs use to run. So you try to run and the muscles needed to run don't have the proper blood supply... and it hurts and your legs don't want to go and they turn into jelly. That's what bricking is. make sense?
It goes away after a few minutes... you just have to plow through it. Your body gets used to it too, if you practice while training. So each time is less and less painful. If you ease into it and condition yourself to it, it's not so bad. It kinda feels like muscle cramps. Some people really have a hard time with it and literally fall down during the transition.
