I brought this up with the aerobics director who loved it but she said she's really busy right now (she's a trainer and teacher too and works from 9am until past 10pm these days).

You are so organized!

I think it's a wonderful plan! I'd sign up if my gym offered it.

My gym has a Christmas class, and this year, there were 5 sections (the class ran 1.5 hours total):

1. warmup/step
2. hi/lo
3. kickboxing
4. abs & conditioning
5. cooldown/stretch

Each section was 20-25 min (check the math and see if it adds up ;))

I'm really not organized but if I don't write it all down, I'd be running a million directions at once!

Was that long enough?

I'm also going to run it by the RD I'm seeing on Thursday to see if she'd be willing to give a half hour talk on fueling your workout.

that sounds great! my only suggestion is to skip bosu and spin in favor of another cardio format (like zumba - that's a great idea!), if that lets you get more people in. i think you should get as many people in as possible, both to raise more money and for the atmosphere. people will be happy with the more traditional classes, because the charity aspect and the social aspect are what will make it fun.

oh, you could probably get donations of naked juice or odwalla juice and odwalla bars. i see them all the time at local 5Ks and stuff like that. i'm not sure where to call about it, though. they probably have someone in charge of regional sales in your area if you call the headquarters. it might even say something about donations on their website.

The thing is the aerobics room isn't that big as it is--you've seen it.

I couldn't tell you if it was long enough - I had to work and left after the warmup/step section.

I think those all sound like great ideas, Jean.
