I hardly ski at all anymore because there's nowhere decent close enough by and my fiance doesn't ski... probably twice in the last 5 years??! I learned to ski on a really small hill nearby when I was 10 or so, but I didn't want to go there anymore when I went up to Michigan's UP as a teenager and went down 10 min runs... I haven't even skiied on any HUGE mountains yet. I would love that. Where do you go? Does your family ski?

I skied some when I was single in New England and then stopped when I had kids.

FYI - you will probably be able to go to the YMCA near your office for free once you join the other Y (and therefore be able to take your yoga and other classes for free)

with a Y membership, you can go to most other Y's in the country for free, except usually the big fancy ones like the one in downtown DC don't participate.

Hi! I'm a lurker, trying to improve my health & fitness.
I'm also hitting the 30 mark in 2 months.
So here are my answers....

1)  What kind of gym do you belong to?
~Citizens Health Plex...
run & built by local Community County Hospital (Citizens Hospital)

2)  How did you find it?
~Word of mouth!

3)  How often do you go?
~3-4 days a week

4)  How long do you spend when you go?
~1.5 to 2 hrs.

5)  What do you do outside the gym?
~Graphic Designer, Collect Antiques and Sell on Ebay!

6)  Are you a runner?
~I try to run at least 2 miles every know and then.
My gym has an indoor track and it's harder to keep up the pace,
but it kicks my butt sometimes.

7)  If not, do you want to be?

yay!! we love it when lurkers delurk!!! hi!

does your gym offer reduced rates for the community because it's run by a hospital? what a great idea for them to do - lower health costs by getting patients healthier before they ever become patients in the first place!

Yeah, those losers... I asked at the Y by my work about that---- and since the Y where I live isn't in the same "association," I can't even get the member price for the classes I take. I do think I can work out there 6 times a month, but that's my only benefit.

1) What kind of gym do you belong to?

It's an all-women gym.

2) How did you find it?

I looked in the phone book for a gym and found it.

3) How often do you go?

I workout about 5 or 6 days a week.

4) How long do you spend when you go?

Usually between an hour and two.

5) What do you do outside the gym?

Kickboxing training and occasionally hiking (this sunday, it'll be walking half of the rock n' roll marathon :)

6) Are you a runner?

Can I run? Yes. Do I like to? Not really.

7) If not, do you want to be?

Ehhh... sort of. I think I'm a fast twitcher so I don't think I'll ever be "good" at running in the sense that I could run for a long time but I would like to be a little more capable.
