let's all just agree to call the escalator thing a "step mill" and the old fashioned stairmaster a "stairmaster." this is like old people calling the fridge the "frigidaire"
i'm exhausted too - up all night with a sick cat. you don't want to know what the problem is, suffice it to say he'll be fine in a week or so and in the meantime i'm stuck being a nurse and likely pincushion for flying claws and teeth. cats do not get the concept of "this is going to make you better in the long run so don't try to claw my eyes out when i try to help you."
because of this excitement, i'm probably not going to be able to lift weights at lunch today as planned. i'll do it later in the week. tonight i have to teach hi/lo and sub core conditioning. i have new music for hi/lo so i'm excited - it's summer songs like old beach boys and surfing songs. i threw some "swimming" type moves into the choreography to go with it. (i wanted to throw in surfing moves, but i don't think my class would be able to do them, let's just say that gidget was not before their time...) it'll cheer everyone up thinking of summer!
I ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION!!! tonight is a very important night! the two hour premiere of ALIAS. can't wait!!!! also, you jennifer garner fans, have you seen the ads for the movie Electra starring JG? looks great. i used to read that comic book - it's a good one. this week i have way too much tv to watch - one hour of Lost, 2 hours of Alias, and 4 hours of the new 24! that's a lot of must-see tv. very excited for 24 too. it better be non-stop action!!! luckily boring Chase and Tony are gone.
oh yeah, food!
coffee, two slices of pumpkin bread with earth balance, clementines smoothie, something from juice joint - probably tofu and veg. stirfry on brown rice almond butter smacker asian noodle soup with extra veggies
I didn't sleep well last night, so when my alarm went off I could NOT get up - no gym for me today (naughty gym rat) Just the usual today, piano teaching and having lunch with bf.
Breakfast: bagel, cream cheese, smoked salmon, spinach..leftover butternut squash soup Lunch: ?? Dinner: thai green chicken curry on top of brown rice
I'm sorry to hear about your cat... I have a very old male with a long history of health issues. I feel your pain...
We started getting this HUGE storm last night. Started with ice, followed by snow. Currently we have 4-5 inches and are expected to get up to 16 inches by the end of the day. So, I didn't make it to the gym last night, but I did manage to get a great interval workout with my ball, matt, weights, and jump rope. I got most of that stuff for Christmas, and it's great to be able to do something productive at home when I can't make it to the gym. I'm a lot less crabby!!! LOL!!! I did however, work my abs a bit hard and I'm paying for it today... which will not be helpful when I'm getting my upper body workout shoveling the walk and driveway... oh and a little path in the yard for the dog. LOL!!
I'm going to head into work while the snow has slowed a bit and get some work to do to keep me occupied through tomorrow. It'll be nice to work from home and work out in the middle of the day rather than the end of the day.
So onto food...
Breakfast: soy protein shake Snack: protein bar Lunch: whole wheat wrap w/turkey and tons of veggies Snack: Atkins yogurt & flax Post workout: whey protein shake Dinner: Chicken kabobs and whole grain rice
it was on at a weird time on Sunday nights. no one really watches it - it gets bad ratings. i never saw it on tv before, just on dvd. now i've finally caught up with the current season. hopefully it will do better this season, with a lead in on Wednesdays from Lost, which is one of the highest rated shows this season. But it's so hard to start watching a show like that in the middle - maybe in the two hour season premiere they'll give any new viewer the info they need to make sense of the show without having seen the previous (2? 3?) seasons.
Hello, all! How did the rowing machine go, Jean? I haven't seen one in awhile and it does seem to be neglected piece of equipment at the gyms. I am up most nights myself. Since I entered perimenopause, that was my most persistent symptom. It still happens but not as often thank goodness. I actually get a night or two each week that I sleep well.
I am looking forward to starting the trial membership at Bally's. I have to be closer to my fighting weight before I go there.
I am now on optimum online and I am so happy with the newer faster connection! Now I don't have an excuse for not posting more. But, today I do. I have to sub 3 classes tonight. I have to teach total tone, a triple fat burner (step, kickboxing, toning), and a ball classes. I have to get out my notecards and refresh my memory on the step and ball. I am then subbing 2 classes tomorrow morning and Undone will be there. Talk about pressure!!! I hope I can walk after tonight!
I have tried the past 2 days to really stick to good healthy eating, but I have gotten off track both days. Today should be better with having to teach tonight. I will make dinner before I go and then make my plate so all I have to do it pop it into the microwave when I get home. I will tell family to put the leftovers away before I get home.
B-steel cut oatmeal, 2 cups decaf tea, ff milk.
D-tuna steak, salad, veggies, brown rice.
I am not sure what I will be eating for snacks since I didn't eat breakfast until late waiting for the oatmeal to cook and the cable guy here installing the new cable for TV and computer.
Oh, boy...what a day...too many new things happening.
