I'm doing the MedGem test this morning. I'm going to lift today and maybe do some cardio if I have time.

I did tricepts and 30 minutes on the eliptical. I saw my best friend at the gym today! Ya'll might remember that she has been over weight and will not workout. She was on the treadmill when I got to the Y this morning. I was so happy for her, I actually teared up when I saw her. She says I'm crazy, which I've decided that I am.

last minute decision to meet dh for pizza--urgh, I feel aweful now. I wish I liked salads, because I was actually looking for another option. Be proud of me, that is a huge step. But, I don't like salads so it was either share a pizza or eat a high fat sandwich. Went with the pizza to save $.

It is McDonalds night. The date night dh usually takes with the kids isn't cancelled just because I don't have class. What can I eat? I don't like salads, and the grilled chicken at McD's tastes like rubber.

It does taste like rubber. I like Wendy's salads a lot more.

We HAVE to go to McD's, it's "tradition". I can't get full off of a parfait at McD's. Maybe I'll get the parfait and share some fries with dd?

HI! I know I missed it, but what is a MedGem test? Does it test for something specific?

I subbed a kickboxing class and a total tone class today. I am waiting for the real soreness to set in. I should be hobbling around by tonight especially with this weather. Now to keep up with this level of exercise. I did feel that my stamina is not what it used to be.

I am not going to go there with the food. I don't know what I am doing today and I just can't stick to anything. I will definitely have to read up on some plans and see what I want to do. I am starting to worry since it is the new year and I still haven't gotten serious.

Have a good one all.

Hey, Grace--any chance you can make DCAC?

The MedGem is supposed to test how many calories your body burns a day at rest.

i would love to get to the bottom of this too. some scientist should do a study on us!

i think part of it is that we aren't burning nearly as many calories as we think we are. i think we are fit enough to the point that our bodies have adjusted to the work, even though it FEELS like hard work. in some odd catch 22, hard work has become easy for our bodies. remember erin? she used to talk about this, didn't she? i think there was some truth to what she was saying.

I agree with this theory. Just like your body gets used to eating less, it gets used to the exercise you do. That is why I was gaining weight while teaching 14 classes a week and eating well. Gets scary sometimes.

Hope you get some answers Jean.

I would love to be able to go to DCAC! I just can't make a decision because there is so much going on here. I have a christening for grandson, a baby shower, a wedding shower, another christening for future granddaughter, and a wedding. All this in the first 6 months of this year. I was going to say yes just to motivate myself to lose this darn weight, but I just can't imagine any more stress of getting things done, even though it is good stress.

Thanks for the info on the MedGem. I am glad it wasn't anything serious.
