My Dh got an xbox for Christmas and I bought "yourself fitness" and I love it! It keeps track of your workouts and progress and gets harder as you need it. You can choose upper, lower, cardio, core, flexibility and each workout always has a cardio segment. I'm working it into my gym weight workout and I'm having fun playing with my new "game".

I've read about it in magazines and wondered how it was.

What I like best is that it is simple and makes me sweat. Instead of routines and choreography it is just a series of exercises like jumping jacks, running in place, plies etc. and it takes very little space to work out in.

I might check it out and give it to my nieces.

It can be done without equipment. You can tell it what you have (ball, step, weights) and it will add these into the workout. The weights are really needed in the upper body part but you could still do it without. I think a dorm room would be enough space. The biggest move is a double side step and a front back skip which could also be done in place. I own a huge library of work out tapes and I am really enjoying this one- the novelty of it might be part of the enjoyment though.
