I was touched during the Big Loser when Gary and his family went out to eat and his wife said she didn't want to get something that would tempt him.

I was so jealous of Gary when his wife did that. Did you notice that the other guys wife lost weight during those weeks they were at home?

Dh doesn't care. I have told him that it is really hard for me to eat healthy when he orders pizza everyother day. I also told him that the kids are not going to eat healthy if he keeps taking them to McDonald's. I thought that would work, but it didn't. I don't know what else to try. I'm getting better about the temptation, though. I have told him to go eat places without me.

Well, at first it wasn't nagging but 12+ years later...If he doesn't want to, nothing I say will do anything.

I thought she looked thinner after, too.

Yeah, he's a pretty healthy eater. I do better on veggies than he does, but I'm fortunate to be married to someone who is at least interested in eating well even if he (and we) don't always. :)

But, could you imagine being married to someone who ALWAYS ate well and never splurged?

He was a right tackle, whatever the heck that means. :) (I'm still learning). The hardest thing was that he was used to eating VOLUMES of food --- 8 hamburgers, 2 packs of fries, a shake, etc., and just having to stuff his face night and day to keep up his weight --- so when he stopped, he couldn't get used to eating little meals. So that's why we eat big salads. A big pile of lettuce so he feels like he's eating a lot, but really not very many calories. Then lesser amounts of protein and veggies on top.

Oh yeah -- and he also got mono his senior year after football season. That helped him lose about 60 lbs. right there. Not a diet plan I'd recommend though.

Sixy pounds! I can't imagine being able to lose that much at one time!
