Snowy day here. Went to the gym for step class at 6:30am, I want to go see my boyfriend but it is snowing so I don't know if I can. If I don't go, I'll get stir crazy.

Breakfast: Banana, babybel cheese
2nd breakfast: veggie omelet

The rest of the day I have no clue right now.

Ugh, I'm so annoyed I didn't go work out!

It's the only 6:30am class all week...but it's the most popular instructor teaching it, so she regularly gets more than 10 people to come out at that hour, even in the middle of winter.

Hi Grace!

Body Step is more action packed than regular step classes and it has pretty much the same format every class: Warm-up, more cardio, less intense, even more cardio, another less intense, there's the party step (my favorite), then there's the peak cardio, cool down, ab work, stretch, and you're done. I love it since it's fast pace and really gets my heart rate up.

the doctor looked at me and said what is a couple of days of rest gonna do, nothing but help your back. It's hard to listen sometimes and I have been there so many times with my back. I actually ran 4 miles in the icy snowy streets and was fine, I went in the house and had to go back out to my car and I fell down the stairs, wouldn't you know I make it 4 miles without a trip and boom a little errand back out to the car and I hurt myself. I think my bf wants me to go to a basketball game tonight anyway(as a spectator), so that may be a good distraction from the gym.

you are, why? Do you ever workout when the doctor advises against it? I mean I am sure we all have.

i went sledding this afternoon - first time in probably decades! it was really fun, and running back up the hill in the snow is like an interval workout. then my friend and i had hot chocolate at her house. i also shoveled, but as jean said, it was easy with the light fluffy snow.

soon i go teach my hi/lo class, the one i'm dropping soon. i'm going to let the class know today - i'm sad to tell the regulars that i'm not teaching anymore after february. then immediately afterward i have my yearly CPR re-certification - i'll be at the gym until like 10:30. ugh. so no dinner for me. i'm bringing a luna bar but i'm sure i'll be starving anyway.

Yeah, I don't always listen to what the doctor tells me.

Is the pace faster than the bpm guidelines? If it is...please be careful of your knees and hips. The fastest music should be is 128 bpm. Just curious. Sometimes we use power moves or plyometrics to get a more intense class or some drills.

Step sure can get a good sweat up...it is very deceiving and then wow...you are dripping wet.
