Back to the grind today... but it was a good morning back. I trained a few clients, did 40 minutes on the elliptical and then had my own killer PT session. Whew. :) It's tough coming back but that's expected after a decadent week, I suppose.

Breakfast: Kashi w/milk

Snack: Peanut butter and jelly foldover

Lunch: Peanut butter and jelly foldover, cinnamon toast crunch w/skim milk

Snack: ?

Dinner: Salad, Herbed chicken with tomatillo salsa and queso fresco, pudding

Oops, no Natural Lays Doritos on my list but I just had some...and I have no excuse--no PMS, no stress, no grumpiness, they just tasted good.

Good idea to check with the chiropractor before attempting two classes. The muscle conditioning is a good way to start. The problem with kickboxing is that once you warm up, you may feel better and energized by the music to do more than you realize. The faster pace may not be good for you yet either. It is better to do controlled movements for now.

I do hope you didn't hurt your back when you were rear ended. Good luck!

Wow...what a story is right!! I am glad everything worked out for that instructor. Sometimes I think that the more the medical profession thinks it knows, the less they really do. YOu can't fool mother nature!

That poor sub...I am glad you were able to cheer her up. Some members just think they own the gym since they pay for a membership and can dictate whom and what about the classes. A good manager can put them right back in their place. They should be happy the class wasn't cancelled and someone was willing to fill in temporarily. It is hard to find someone who will do that. I am one of those dumb subs that would do it and it is a very ungrateful job. It never becomes your class and it is hard to win over some members because they are just waiting for the regular instructor to come back.

Tell her for me that she is doing a great job just by being there and doing her personal best. Tell her to be herself and if they don't like it, the members can stop going until the "regular" instructor comes back. Let them bite off their noses to spite their faces!!

Are you neglecting to tell everyone that you had a baby at home too?

Because I am doing my thesis work in the history of childbirth arena I am always being amazed at ways that medicine and man (the sexest term) have made childbirth more complicated than it should be. At the same time, I'm not a granola eating hippie, so I enjoy my epiderals as much as the next gal.

i don't know about home births vs. hospital births (although i believe the research shows that home births are as safe as hospital births), but regardless of where a woman has her baby, the odds of dying during childbirth are not "non-existent". a woman in the US has much more of a likelihood of dying from childbirth than dying from a plane crash.

Well, the difference between home births now as opposed to pre 20th century is that, if a problem does arise, we can always go to the hospital post delivery.

I sensed the sarcastic tone in that post, undone, and I was being sarcastic with you! I am all for giving birth in the hospital. Hey, I like it mostly for the janitorial service provided, yuck! In all seriousness, the hospital in our town suxs, if you couldn't tell already. It would almost be more comforting to be at home.
