Pilates--longer, leaner muscles?

I have heard this so many times that Pilates will help make your muscles longer and leaner.

i've never done power yoga, but i'll give you one big difference between yoga and pilates - pilates is done in repetitions of exercises like strength training or ab work. there is no equivilent concept in yoga. yoga poses are held and sometimes flow into each other. although a series of poses might be repeated (like the sun salutation), there is nothing in yoga like the One Hundred (where exactly one hundred repetitions are done)
that is to say -- if we were to overgeneralize, the strenousness of yoga comes from holding certain poses, in pilates it comes from the repetition of certain exercises.
