Today is a gloomy, rainy Monday morning (how true were the Carpenters "Rainy days on Mondays always gets me down . . . "). I have to lug two kids to my son's Valentine's day party and then try to keep my eye on them AND give my son 100% of my attention! I guess that will be my work-out for the day!
oops, i think i'm too late to wish good luck! hope it went well.
no afternoon workout today, just taking a break (even though i haven't worked out all weekend!). tonight i teach my cardio kickboxing class.
food-
breakfast- flax waffle with warm cherries and too much sugar. i'm trying this with all kinds of fruits - i didn't like it with frozen cherries, so far i do like it with raspberries, apples, or strawberries. coffee with soymilk.
lunch- big salad with grilled veggies and marinated tofu.
snack- vegan jerky and smoothie
snack- grapefruit
dinner- heart-shaped pizza (whole wheat crust, no cheese) with green and black olives, roasted garlic, & artichoke hearts, champagne, heart-shaped mini chocolate cake with raspberry filling and pink icing.
I have two weight training classes & a client today, so it's an easy day. And I'll be making a specialty of mine for DH's B-Day (Shrimp Etouffe). Have to admit I'm almost tempted not to (not really) since my B-day went by w/ barely a blip on the radar, other than him saying Happy Birthday when he got up, reminding our son to and giving me a few extra kisses through the day. Ah well, its my own fault. I've never had any use for tracking one's age or judging one because of it, neither of them really cook and are afraid to attempt anything vegan and I didn't want any gifts, but sheesh... at least offer to take me to dinner or give a card. I still cooked all three meals, did housework & went to work, but what's done is done and it WAS a nice relaxing Sunday.
Good luck with your step teaching, Jean! Before my certification exam, that's how I practiced, I taught 1 song at the beginning of class, or I did abs & the cooldown. I see that you had rice porridge for breakfast. I like JOOK and a plate of fried noodles for breakfast at a greasy spoon chinese restaurant for breakfast sometimes.
Breakfast: slept in till 11:30, heh Lunch: leftover satay beef & veggies with brown rice Dinner: butternut squash soup
My inlaws took me out for lunch yesterday for my birthday and we had all sorts of greasy deepfried things, like calamari and pork and chicken and fish (they've yet to realize steaming is a method of cooking!).
At least jook is fat free. I like to put a ton of cilantro in it, and my favourite "addition" is sliced fish. I've asked my mom to make it with brown rice before and she can't because the husks prevent the grains from properly "exploding" into the porridge.
My bf loves crispy fried noodles too. Well actually, so do I ;) But really, when we go out for chinese, we love this beef that's rolled in salt and spices and fried. Fortunately, we don't have Chinese that often, and sometimes I'll make fried rice at home with brown rice and lots of veggies.
HI, all! How did the class go Jean? Let us know how you did. Hope the V-day party went well at school too.
Took a step class today and finished up with 10 minutes of Pilates in the corner of the room. I felt out of whack after the class since it was taught too quickly and doing the Pilates put me back into alignment. Did some errands...bought some black racer back exercise bras at target, got a haircut, bought food to start cooking for DD's baby shower. I hope to make and freeze the eggplant parmesan for the vegetarians coming to the shower.
Food...decaf tea with ff milk before class. Big bowl of oatmeal with ff milk and raisins after I got home. Handfull of almonds. Decaf tea ff milk. Dinner-broiled scallops, salad, steamed fresh broccoli, spaghetti squash, maybe some of the eggplant.
O man, Valentine's Day put a hurting on me! Last night I made dinner for Wes- it actually wasn't a V-Day dinner or anything. But I made homemade pizza w/ proscuitto, fresh mozzarella and tomatoes, and a brownie-bottom cheesecake w/ strawberry compote. He loved it, which is great, and things are going much better between us. But it is hurting my work-out goals! This morning we made crepes- again, more sugar!
Breakfast- pounds and pounds of sugar
Consequently- I will just be drinking water for the rest of the day, to flush it out of my system!
Dinner will most likely be the last piece of leftover pizza. I will resist the urge to touch the cheesecake- might bring Wes a piece tonight for when he gets home from work, just so I can keep on getting rid of it.
Exercise- my best friend insisted on coming over at noon to work out- mind you, Wes and I had breakfast at 11- I was in such a sugar coma, I was useless. So I just barked counts and moves at her. I will work out a little later by myself! Going to the gym tomorrow, hard core... :) Man, monogamy can make you fat!
Breakfast: Egg beaters with cheese and chives Snack: Apple Lunch: Chicken sausage with veggies and tomatoes Dinner: Not sure yet - maybe going out, maybe cooking chicken
Trying very hard to avoid an afternoon snack in case I splurge at dinner.
